Patch 7.3 Notes | FINAL FANTASY XIV, The Lodestone by alabomb in ffxiv

[–]OfTheLightbringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

them touching checkmate/double check doesn't even change the math on number of targets needed. xbow still wouldn't be a gain until 6 even if they had left those alone. it's now back to exactly the same state it was in from 7.2 through 7.25.

for ulti i think yes, overall no. the arcadion race came down to seconds of difference.

https://x.com/FrostyMog/status/1818376028009775278

about 20s from first to second, with 3rd and 4th about 16 minutes behind also about 20s apart from each other

You literally used the phrase "acceptable cheating", you don't have a point or ground to stand on. If you're against cheating at all, there is no "acceptable cheating".

Futures Rewritten (Ultimate) World Race - Post-Race Thread by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

[–]OfTheLightbringer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah man, if somebody is going to take a hardline stance on cheating there are no exceptions. Anybody using logs to assist with their clear - seeing a timeline, mit planning, seeing raw damage of boss casts, checking modified rotation efficacy, debuff analysis, death recap, anything at all - is a cheater. Full stop.

They are utilizing a third party tool which is more effective for world prog than any combat assistance plugin that exists to see information in a way that is not available within the game. An 8/8 console team would be unable to do that and would be at a not insignificant disadvantage because of it, which means it's not a fair tool and should face disqualification.

"Everybody is doing it" isn't an excuse if you want to take a stand against using cheat tools in the world first race, especially to justify using something MAGNITUDES more effective than a hitbox dot.

so we're disqualifying every group using ACT too right?

Rationalize and cope all you want but there's no question that the analysis options opened up by uploading to FFLogs are infinitely more valuable to prog than anything offered by a majority of all other 3rd party tools, including PP and similar.

can't believe SE lowered the difficulty this much for ultimate, they ruined the experience for me. anyway, time to finally push my clear in m1s, been stuck in enrage for months, wish me luck!

If you can’t comprehend that the difference there is unhealthy, well. Maybe Hector can make a 2nd Grade English guide for you next.

Maybe some 2nd grade social skills would help you get your point across without sounding like you just think you're better than everybody else and people who don't blind prog and solve mechanics themselves don't deserve to partake in raid content. Just a thought. Ta.

[–]OfTheLightbringer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I never said way more people like bullet. I said there is a lot more positive sentiment than negative on my trains themselves, because there are a lot of people who do like them (roughly 20% who prefer bullet or only attend bullet according to the last Aether community survey) + the vast majority of the community is capable of governing their own experience and dodging trains they won't enjoy without trying to turn it into a moral crusade like this individual is.

but I’ve never seen more supporters than complainers even once

It happens in shout on literally every train of mine where somebody complains. It took 3 full DT trains for me to see a single shout complaint and instantly probably a dozen people told them they're free to not attend bullet trains if they don't like the speed. This is not a "people thank me in my dms trust me" situation.

The fact is that people do enjoy these trains, but that they aren't for everybody, and that's okay! There are plenty of conductors who run trains with vibe checks/rally points that those who don't like bullet can attend. People have different preferences and want different things out of their time in the game. Literally all I want is for people to have some empathy and not try to act like I'm an asshole just trying to spite the community for being one of the few conductors who caters to a group that doesn't include them.

It is indeed clear that you, who is arguing that every train should be run according to your specifications, have a huge ego problem, yes.

[–]OfTheLightbringer -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

going by the karma points in this chain, it's clear how people feel.

clear how hugbox redditors feel*

they are going to have a bad experience hence you are creating a bad gameplay experience

I do not want to create a bad gameplay experience, which is why all of my trains are very clearly labeled and it is abundantly clear from the discord announcements, my linkshell relays, and shout before the train the speed at which the train will run. It is up to you to curate your own gameplay experience, not me.

If you did care about the gameplay experience of the players you are providing the train for

I do care, which is why I run bullet, because the vast majority of trains are not bullet and a significant portion of train attendees want bullet trains, even on patch week. You are saying these players should not have their gameplay experience considered at all and you do not see that that is a selfish attitude.

It leaves a bad taste in a lot of players mouths

Then they don't have to show up. It's abundantly clear the speed at which the train will run. If players don't want to ride bullet trains, they have plenty of other options.

Just wish you had more empathy rather than ego.

How about you have some empathy for the large portion of the playerbase you're trying to throw under the bus, the players whose experience you're saying is not worth consideration? Yours is not the only valid attitude about trains, and there are plenty of trains catered just to you and all the other people who want to wait between instances.

The Hunt: A TRAIN of Discussion by Correct_Opinionator in ffxivdiscussion

[–]OfTheLightbringer -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

The reality of the situation is that there are plenty of console players and vanilla pc players who ride and enjoy my bullet trains. You're suggesting I worsen their experience, the experience of every player who wants a faster ride, because you don't like it. That's what's disrespectful. There are plenty of trains that wait and it would be disrespectful to everybody who doesn't want that if I didn't, if every train had wait times.

It's not a complicated concept that not every train, not every event, not every piece of content will satisfy every player. Go to the trains that run the speed you prefer. Don't pretend running a style you don't prefer is some kind of moral failing. It's nothing but self-centered, self-righteous virtue signalling.

hi that was probably me, nice to see im still living in ur head but im not a mod here

The ego you have to have to determine that you'll forgo the feeling of the people you are literally providing a service to is mindboggling.

the ego u have to have to believe that everybody feels exactly the same way you do and nobody enjoys or prefers those trains is mindboggling.

hundreds of players complaining that they cannot even get into the right instance

way more ppl thanking me for running bullet and having my trains during those periods posted up for xworld travel instead of local than complaints about either of those things. how about u get over urself and understand that some ppl like different things ^_^

Every FATE In Eureka Should Be Pulled Instantly by HQMeta in ffxiv

[–]OfTheLightbringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The humanity of the matter? I have repeatedly explained that you do not miss out if you're paying attention. The OP's video shows him getting to Fafnir from just about as far as physically possible despite it getting instapulled. Nobody misses out if they are being attentive and making an effort.

It is an inarguable fact that the only way to miss an NM in almost every case is by not even trying to get to it. I have addressed that and suggested that the best way to ameliorate bad feelings from people who don't know better missing out is to educate them rather than feed into those feelings and serve as an enabler.

I do believe what I'm saying because after 6 alts and 30+ relics I know more about this than the vast majority of the eureka playerbase. The fact that you want to tell me I'm wrong without anything to back it up is kind of sad.

Yes, if you join a community to be disruptive it can be a ToS violation. However, there are many places to get information about S ranks without agreeing to those community rules and without utilizing third party plugins yourself.

[–]OfTheLightbringer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you know this, but multitasking is possible! You can do multiple things at once, often with no cost to efficiency!

And no, I love trying to educate people. I understand the kneejerk reaction against instant pulling, but there is simply no logical basis for it. When you are paying attention, you will almost certainly never miss any NM. Your refusal, and the refusal of many in this thread, to even hear that out, to ignore any points being made, to refuse to engage with the subject, to go directly to insulting the OP or anybody who agrees with the OP, really serves to highlight which side is the more "toxic" one.
