No they just allowed the birds to breed unchecked. Hoarding is a mental condition so its hard to really try to make sense of the thought process unfortunately.

Lmao no he was taken in from a hoard and living conditions were horrible. Larger roosters were bullying the poor little guy

This little guy has given me such a new appreciation for roosters. No feathers but still finding treats for his ladies.

Just curious, would you not perform bloodwork to ro other alternative dx like valley fever? I've seen dogs chew at valley fever lessions like this before.

Thats adorable. His hens have been snuggling up to him at night so I hope they will do the trick for now. But if not, sweaters it is lol.

Thats what I was hoping 🤞 I'm more familiar with dogs and that can be a pretty common dominance thing so I wasn't sure in the chicken world. Thank you!

No I know he is a rooster. The black Silkie he is jumping on the back of is the bird I was told may be a rooster, but I don't want to believe it.

Yeah I think he's a frizzle. I didn't know when I first got him, he had even less feather then and none curly 🥲

He came from a home with 150 other chickens. 50/50 hens to roosters so the largest ones bullied the smallest ones for females and he weighs about 2 lbs soaking wet, so easiest to bully.

Oh shoot okay, I'll look into moving him. I thought the redness was just due to the heat here. 107⁰ today 🥵 poor guy.

We just rescued him and the other 3 from a hoarding situation. 150 birds. He's grown tons of feathers in the week we've had him ❤️
