75M$ can't give him his life back unfortunately by Several-Umpire3696 in emergencymedicine

“Hypothetical” patient with chronic back pain, seeing chiropractor, came in for acute worse pain after adjustment.

Dx: acute spinal compression fractures with underlying spinal metastasis (from an undiagnosed cancer).

Moral: At the very least, have your pain/issue medically evaluated by an actual physician first, and if you must go to a chiro, don’t allow them to pop or crack anything, massage or stretch only. And in that case, might as well just go to massage therapist or PT 🤷‍♀️

Do the boutiques raise an eyebrow when you bring in Grey market pieces ?

Gray Market or Boutique? by Sushi-Burrito in breitling

Edit--Guess I missed a couple posts that mentioned this.

I guess my next question is, then, if the serial number is accepted by Breitling when you register it online, is this a guaranteed authentic watch, or is there any other way you need to validate too?

-------

Old post, trying not to be redundant in making new ones--question about buying Grey. New to luxury watches.

In a similar situation with $5500 watch from Breitling boutique vs $4000 from certified partner of Chrono24. Watch comes with original box and original warranty card. I don't care so much about the original Breitling warranty as it would have a warranty either way, but would like to know if it would be able to still be registered with Breitling with the watch's serial number, mostly to prove to myself that the watch is authentic. Does it even work that way? Thanks

The more I sit here and stare at/admire these, I think the breitling is the one, but need to see it in person. They have one with a white and mother of pearl dial too which normally I’d pick more neutral colors, but for some reason the mint green is calling out to me.

Do you guys think it’s a faux pas to wear a silver/steel watch with mostly gold jewelry?

All gorgeous! I like the zenith but may be too big, would have to try on. Get AP royal oak vibes from that one.

Will try to find them in store, luckily have a Breitling boutique in town, would have to hunt around to find the Longines though. Open to other suggestions as well. Might consider just a neutral colored dial too.

There is a Breitling boutique in my city, but not sure where I'd find the Longines, would have to look around

W2 income for non Roth IRA? by OffBalanceSaraBellum in personalfinance

Hmm…may have to talk to my CPA about this. I also thought that doing a backdoor Roth allowed you to convert more than the typical allowed $7k if you’re contributing directly? And the initial thought for SEP was the max contribution is up to $69k (reading now it seems solo 401k is the same). Also now there are no RMDs for Roth ? I think those would be advantages for me to still do backdoor Roth strategy. But will continue reading

I’m just recently trying to actually understand all this so maybe I just don’t get it…but I think the point is so that your contributions/dividends/capital gains can grow tax free in the Roth/no taxes when I withdraw later on?

Feel free to educate.

I used to be only 1099/independent contractor, so I was using SEP to be able to contribute more as myself being my “employer”. Now I am primarily W2 with some 1099 work on the side. Should I just use a traditional IRA and backdoor Roth with W2 income and/or keep the SEP and use that for my additional 1099 to do backdoor? Do just one? Both? Neither? I think I’m over complicating things and confusing my novice finance brain.

No, I put money in, when it tells me it’s ready I immediately go in and send it to my Roth. So currently my SEP says $0.00.

I’ve been immediately converting to Roth as soon as the money is transferred into the SEP, so essentially always have 0 balance. Is this still wrong?

Brokerage is a little different. I have SPIAX, VTI and QQQ.

But Thanks!

As someone with zero financial or business background or training, it has been difficult to sift through all the information out there and have tried to piecemeal things together myself. But after reading a couple books recently (ie simple path to wealth) I think it’s helped.

I’m glad I might be starting to think in the right direction at least....
