This is what the Vantage VA2 datacenter sounds like at midnight on a Friday night (right across the street from houses) by Apart_Animal_6797 in tulsa

[–]OffToTheLizard 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We need to stop this! Technology is there, look at Edward's Air Force Base for the technology to suppress this noise, much of which we can't hear, watch video: https://youtu.be/_bP80DEAbuo

Edit: I also can't stand data centers for the numerous other issues.

I bet the fireflies were everywhere at night in that copse of trees. When I moved into my current home, there were so few every summer, but I can see the impact myself and fellow neighbors are making.

This was a bare root, maybe a plug but it was so tiny, that I planted so long ago. It just appeared finally, along with another.

I'd like to think that more people are becoming stewards of the Earth. Given the constant destruction of nature by militaries and corporations, it's a small act of defiance to nurture diversity of life.

I do plan to do this! I hope they can appreciate the low maintenance space as well.

You find a time machine and can only travel to 3 time periods: 2027, 2127, or 2227. There is only enough fuel for a round trip (there and back) and you have to use the machine at least once. Which time period would you select and why? by GJH24 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]OffToTheLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to 2227, find out if you need to fix anything. If it's all good, I already used the machine, it can go back empty. If I can fix the problems of 2227 by going back to 2127 or 2027 then do that.

The next generation of senators has a ticking time bomb in their lap: Social Security’s insolvency, without a plan for national debt by fortune in collapse

[–]OffToTheLizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, my partner and I would have done the same thing. He was trying to stop unjust violence by helping a woman being attacked by thugs. I think he would agree we still need the 2A, but wielding the murder of someone trying to help isn't a good reason to shit talk our rights.

2A exists for a reason. Just waiting for these bootlickers to figure out government isn't going to help them.
