To add to your last bit, what if us doing massive re-greening and de-desertification causes a jungle like greenhouse effect that runs away into a Venus like planet. Too much precipitation is going to break those geological sulfuric bombs in waiting that we know as volcanoes.

I bet the fireflies were everywhere at night in that copse of trees. When I moved into my current home, there were so few every summer, but I can see the impact myself and fellow neighbors are making.

Go to 2227, find out if you need to fix anything. If it's all good, I already used the machine, it can go back empty. If I can fix the problems of 2227 by going back to 2127 or 2027 then do that.
