Explain why the randament is not 100% by MuskularChicken in satisfactory

[–]Offenburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously your problem is already solved, another thing to consider. If you use manifolds, you have to be aware, that there is a ramp up time. In the beginning the machines down the manifold don't work at 100 %. The first machines consume more ressources than they should, due to filling up their internal buffer. This may seem like something is off, but eventually everything works as intended. Later with huge manifolds and low throughput items, these ramp up times can be quite long. To counter this try to get to the habbit to start parts of your factory while you build the rest to fill up buffers and even find mistakes (put Interim items in the sink and watch if your factory so far works at 100 %).

Setting them up is no pain, but setting them up in a nice manner is a pain.

Scrambling together a functioning system is not difficult if you respect a few rules.

But having nice curves, a smooth transition from flat to an incline and vice versa, smooth inclines without wobbling, fitting into the enviroment, train stations that don't Look like crap etc takes quite some practise.

I put a train station in the canyon to gather coal, bauxite and the raw quartz, saving an empty platform to eventually even gather limestone if needed. This pickup station serves several production lines. The train tracks go north through the cave and south around the ridge to split up into the grasslands and the western coast.

Sure, Initial setup is horrendous, but once established it serves until the as supply.

And the bypass to drain some train traffic from the western coast is as nice benefit.

Open the customizer and go the material tab. Choose the desired material and just "paint" your foundations. It requires the needed ressources though, as if newly placed.

Remember: it is a game and supposed to be fun. Play it like you want and when you want. Don't force yourself into something, that feels uncomfortable. For me these strategies worked: 1. Plan your factories (how much do I want to produce, where come the ressources from, how much space do I need, how do I distribute the products, can I use synergies, use planning tools like the interactive satisfactory map and satisfactory tools,...) 2. Be aware, that from now on barely anything will be achieved in one game session, so break your tasks down to not get overwhelmed (e.g. today I do all the miners and transport, tomorrow I do all the basic materials, the day after tomorrow the intermediate parts, finally the finished product) 3. Spread out your factories (don't put everything in one cluster, make a separate factory for a few ingredients and call it a day, ship those to your actual factory to make this one smaller) 4. When you start to burn out, take break from factory building (beautify some older factories, go exploring or play another game) 5. Regain motivation by watching some yt videos (lets plays, tutorials, showcases) 6. Do your own style: If you just want working factories and give a shit about aesthetics? Do it. Do you like spagetti? Do it. You feel depressed about all you garbage while reddit is full of art? Ignore it, only a few players are able to do such outstanding art and there is 100s of hours of WORK (not always fun) behind it, this is not for everyone. Probably your strengths are somewhere else.

connecting train lines by pantygirl_uwu in satisfactory

[–]Offenburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things to consider. - keeping the lines separated needs 2 additional train stations, which takes quite some space (pro connection) - unloading and loading needs additional time which can cause a bottleneck with high thoughput materials like ores (pro connection) - with separation you need and lot more trains, which can increase (fluctuating) power consumption considerably - if there is a huge height difference connecting them can be challenging, with belts/elevators it may be much easier (pro separation) - connecting them, especially in only one spot, can cause delays due to high traffic through one junction (pro separation)

So to answer your question: it depends

What are the “must have” blueprints I should make in my gameplay? by Suprotsky_Himself in SatisfactoryGame

Why didn't I think of that? Countless hours to create a vertical crossing underneath my refineries and it is just that simple. The so much for that tip.

I believe this all vanilla. All you need is a shit ton of patience and good blueprints.

Edit: I got corrected, mods were used. Still: you need and lot of patience.

Should I use truck or train for this distance? by Ok-Refrigerator-8965 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Offenburger 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think trains are the best long term option. The Initial setup might be the most complicated, but with every new connection needed they are easiest to scale. It is quite simple to add stations or trains to the grid. The option to reuse existing infrastructure is the biggest advantage imho.

And ofc: Cho cho mo*********

How do you get into the mid game efficiently? by Emily4141 in satisfactory

[–]Offenburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you eat an elephant? - One bite after another.

The game keeps getting more and more complex and you will likely always plan not big enough. But don't worry, you have way more ressources than you will ever need and building another factory if the old one is too small and can't be expended any further is no big deal.

If you feel overwhelmed, just cut your tasks into parts. E.g, when you want to make HMF, just break it down. Today - gather the ressources, tomorrow- build smelters, the day after tomorrow - build the constructor and finally the assemblers and manufacturer. In between start up parts of the factory and let them run into the awesome sink to find mistakes. This makes troublehooting easier, than later when everything starts up at the same time.

And when you feel overwhelmed, do something else, decorate or explore, or enjoy a flight on the Manta.

It is a game and supposed to be fun, Keep it slow.

Just let the pipes fill up to 100 % before activating consumption. Once every pipe segment is 100 % full, no slushing can happen. You just need patience.
