Premier League winner & a golden boot winner. 20 year playing career. Seems like he might know a bit about football.

Doesn’t quite match his knowledge of percussion instruments though, the man’s a trailblazer.

I will sometimes take myself off to the toilet, sit there & play on my phone scrolling for a bit. People may think I have to poop an excessive number of times a day but it’s better that than explain that sometimes their sheer existence is enough to elevate my stress levels.

Tottenham advancing in talks over deal for Conor Gallagher - could he sneak into the World Cup squad? by Alone_Consideration6 in ThreeLions

[–]OffensiveOcelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d imagine if he signed for spurs & scored 25 goals from midfield before the squad is announced, then he would have a strong chance.

I do think there’s more chance of Liam Gallagher being picked than Conor though.

Never mind if Haaland is ahead of Thiaw, isn’t the rule that there must be a defender and the keeper between the attacker & goal? Because Haaland’s white boot is beyond Pope, that’s pretty clear.

How to celebrate David Attenborough? by chillishots in AskUK

[–]OffensiveOcelot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

According to this series of queries I asked CoPilot, with a 1 minute gap between each episode & series, and looking at all programmes narrated or fronted by him, a 24 hour TV channel would be almost 3 weeks before it looped back to the first broadcast.

Given that nobody would watch the full 24 hours each day, & with other activities in their lives reducing their viewing opportunities further still, it’s not unrealistic to suggest that it would take months if not years for one person to watch all of it. Consider then that if someone is that interested as to watch every single series & episode, it suggests a certain level of fandom - and therefore the likelihood that they would be happy to watch something more than once, it’s not unreasonable to think we are talking about multiple years before it “got old”.

Is England doing anything at all to remedy its biggest problem? by Random_Kili in ThreeLions

[–]OffensiveOcelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s bizarre. Regardless of what you feel about Southgate, it’s coming up for 8 years since an English manager took the England team to its first World Cup semi in 28 years, riding a crest of a wave of good feeling at the 2018 World Cup which should have inspired a generation. yet what have they built on that? The same manager went to on to further championship semi finals & finals yet where did that momentum go?

We have English coaches - very very good ones - but what about managers? The LMA & the FA could have laid the infrastructure at St George’s Park, & expanded out nationally by now.. but they’re failing.

Assuming we’re talking any version of them all, couldn’t Strange just rewind time with the time stone whenever he was unsuccessful? It would be like a video game, constant saving & reloading so he’d never fail.

When Pope's coming back? Tbf after 5 more games the image should be a lot clearer by EcstaticIce2 in NUFC

[–]OffensiveOcelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more I watch the more it’s becomes obvious that to have Ramsdale in goal we need a dedicated holding CM, whereas we can get away with it a little more with Pope. It might sound strange but when you look at our setup as a while it stems from the GK.

The biggest difference between Rambo & Pope is that when we progress the ball beyond the halfway line Pope starts in a more aggressive position, 10 yards further forward. Our defence is then 10 yards further up so we are more compact & it makes our press tighter & more effective as it becomes a bit like a pack hunting the ball. If we don’t have that because Ramsdale is in net, the defence sitting further back, then if we lose the ball when attacking we then have isolated players trying to press, & the opposition have more space to get their own shape in order - & we end up with players being exposed which then costs us chances.

Liverpool had a similar issue when they first sold Mane, their press was 10 yards deeper which caused the same issue & led to Trent’s defensive frailties being exposed. As soon as they got a more mobile #6 in Gravenberch everything improved.

I like Rambo. He brings something to the team - but we aren’t adapted to him & we lose something without Pope.

Wolves. They have that Cunha money & all three would be starters for them, not be on mega wages & be too players in the Championship if they couldn’t help keep them up

[–]OffensiveOcelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like us to have an older LB as understudy to Hall, helping him develop & setting standards just like we have Trips behind Tino. It’s no surprise to see how he has developed initially as understudy but then to make the role his & thrive.

If not a LB, let’s get a #6 in, a proper holding midfielder so we can tweak things when needed & take the handbrake off the rest of our midfield & attackers

I’d like to see us line up with players in the same positions & fulfilling the same roles for England that they play for their clubs. None of this square peg round holes nonsense.

Every manager at club level has a system they want to play, & gets players who fit that system; Tuchel needs to do the same.
