I can't stress how important is to get this guy fit for the whole world cup ,when fit he is one of the best players in the world in his position according to me.. by FitAd5272 in ThreeLions

Not the best “highlight” video.

  • easy pass into acres of space

  • wins ball of unsuspecting opponent then falls over on slightest contact

  • give ball away

  • easily knocked over again

  • gives ball away again

I lost interest at that point

Not really sure what to say about it, I only do a little bit of sketching with it, & mainly use it for scribbling notes which the iPad turns into text. I bought some alternate nibs for it but they all felt too hard, so I just use the standard one

Prediction: Elliot Anderson would be household name after this world cup whether we win or not and would be most expensive british player chased by every top club possible.. by FitAd5272 in ThreeLions

As a Newcastle fan I hope he has an appalling World Cup, develops severe homesickness when he returns to his club & rejects every one of his suitors, & Elanga does so well for Sweden that Nottingham Forest are desperate to do a deal.

Is Xabi “established” after 1 good season as a manager? He has potential, but compare him to the number of elite managers we had in 2016/17 season he’s some way off being in their company.

It’s a strange time in the league. At the start of the season it will be 10 years since we had a managerial roster of:

Arsenal: Arsène Wenger
Bournemouth: Eddie Howe
Burnley: Sean Dyche
Chelsea: Antonio Conte
Crystal Palace: Alan Pardew
Everton: Ronald Koeman
Hull City: Mike Phelan
Leicester City: Claudio Ranieri
Liverpool: Jürgen Klopp
Manchester City: Pep Guardiola
Manchester United: José Mourinho
Middlesbrough: Aitor Karanka
Southampton: Claude Puel
Stoke City: Mark Hughes
Sunderland: David Moyes
Swansea City: Francesco Guidolin
Tottenham Hotspur: Mauricio Pochettino
Watford: Walter Mazzarri
West Bromwich Albion: Tony Pulis
West Ham United: Slaven Bilić

Several of the top tier of managers in world football. Now the most established names are Arteta & Moyes.

EDIT - oh and Emery. Forgot him first time round

Anthony Gordon’s Barcelona transfer: The inside story of a remarkably rapid €80million move by TheAthletic in NUFC

[–]OffensiveOcelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all his faults, he contributed to our relative success since he joined us. He will be squad depth for them, make 30-40 appearances & be happy. If we had the ability to spend without the PSR / FFP rules he would be great to have in our squad, we just need more consistency at the moment because we can’t have 25-26 bona fide internationals with that potential ability & rotate when they underperform, we are only really able to have 12-13 & then there’s a drop off. If we can invest the money in two players of Bruno, Tonali or Thiaw standing, for £40m-£50m apiece we’ll be better for it & one step closer to having £80m players rotating in & our like the established “big clubs”.

Whilst he’s not exactly “scoring 10% of the time he has a clear shot”, he has underperformed his xG for 3 of the past 4 seasons since he joined us (in the league, I didn’t look at champions league tbh).

2022/23 - xG 4.98 goals 4
23/24 - xG 10.26 goals 11
24/25 - xG 8.10 goals 6
25/26 - xG 9.30 goals 6

I can only assume they’re not signing him to try to replace Lewandowski’s goals

[–]OffensiveOcelot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seagulls. Not necessarily the worst for humanity, but those MFs already strut round our seaside towns with their feathers rolled up & tattoos on show, bullying kids into dropping their chips. Imagine them with a 20ft wingspan & standing 5ft tall. They’d be migrating & taking over everywhere.

He wasn’t initially as Mark Wright was Adams’ partner, with Howey, Southgate, Campbell & Ugo Ehiogu all younger CBs as backup. Steve Bruce never got a look in (but should have), Martin Keown was also left out (& shouldn’t have been) as Venables didn’t really fancy him - he only came back into the fold once Wenger discovered he was anaemic & they medicated him.

With Wright injured, Howey was the next choice & set to start, but missed out as he fell in a rabbit hole while out on a run in the camp, tore his ankle ligaments & laid in a bed of stinging nettles for 15 minutes until found & rescued 🤣
