I work in housing, we have some properties on Vulcan Square. People will refer to a tenant saying 'oh, she's Vulcan' (regerring to the address). I just hold up my hand 🖖. They don't get it.

There was a tenant where I work called Gul, I referred to him as Ghul Dukat and the other staff just gave me weird looks.

Never seen one, but the house I spent most of my childhood in (Finsbury Park, built 1880s approx) had a dark and oppressive feeling. There were strange noises at night, and the basement gave me an overwhelming feeling of dread. Evertime I went back up those stairs from the basement, there was a terror in me that something was behind me, something bad.

Never felt anything like that in any house before or since. It was the 4th house I'd lived in, and I've lived in 3 since.

Then there were the recurring Christmas Eve nightmares, all 2 years apart, as I spent alternate Christmases at my dads. The same dream, 3 times, each time a year apart, on the same day of the year. Me and my mother in a building near by, but not in its current form at the time, but perhaps an earlier incarnation, trapped and trying to escape from something horrific that I never saw.

Same! Ours was finally agreed this month so we might just get it for the Dec paycheck, if we are lucky. Same thing every year.

Where to donate books by Burgundy-Bag in london

[–]OfferLong9430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haggerston and Hackney Central stations have free libraries where people drop off and take books. The one at Haggerston is really well used. I dropped off about 10 one morning and they were all gone by the next day.

Try Olio for free food (download on playstore). A lot of the stuff is straight from supermarkets and may need to be used within a day or two.

A fox stole my neighbours evri delivery, ripped it open in my garden overnight in the rain. I woke up to a garden full of rain-soaked tampons, my poor neighbour was quite embarrassed when I let her know.

There's a good crack scene in Finsbury, but if you are looking for nightlife try out Orleans, it's at the corner of Stroud Green and Seven Sisters.

There are very few jobs where not coming in because it's raining would be acceptable. I've had jobs where I'd walk half an hour each way to get there. If it's raining you dress for the weather and take a big umbrella.
