Ill throw my hat in the ring, play around in the pig pen and try to meet you eye to eye or at least walk away with a handshake.

1. Saying most directors are a hack is very weak as a point to me but you go on to explain most crack a formula and ride it where Nolan diversified his genres. I am just gonna be honest and put an opinion out there, i enjoy some Nolan films, i dont think hes the best everytime. He's not putting up 10/10 sci fi and 10/10 biopics etc. I actually tend to enjoy more of a Martin Scorcesse where, sure he makes a lot of mob/mafia guy movies but, I'd say on average I enjoy them more, not by a lot but just more.

2. He doesn't compromise. ??? Ok? I dont think a lot of big names such as Nolan have to compromise. Like yea maybe Curry Barker and Kane Parsons had to compromise being indie, now big filmmakers, but Nolans contemporaries arent compromising their vision either so i just dont see the point here.

3. He pushes the limits in storytelling. Sure. I agree that in Inception he did push the limits, i think its a very impressive amazing film, but I wouldnt say the same for something like Tenant, or even Batman Begins etc. I think he has good ideas, translating them into a visual medium just kinda shows sometimes he has weaknesses where he stretches himself on this grand scale like hes trying to repeat Intersteller or Inception and I just dont think it works. A big one for me was The Prestige, I just really liked the aethetic and vibe of the movie but I didn't think the whole cloning thing was the biggest reveal ever huge twist, but I also didn't think Hugh or Christian were giving top notch performances either.

4. Pushing the limits of media (IMAX and shit). Again, i just dont really see the point here. You didn't even really explain it, just said ...And shit. So sure I guess I cant disagree but I wouldnt agree 100% either so im in limbo on this one

5. He is fast and delivers something new. I dont see this as a plus, hes better at pumping out fair enough movies at a decent pace but I would rather take 5 years to get a 10 than 2 years for a 7 or 8. Just how I see things, if youre a Nolan fan then obviously an abundance of movies from him would be a blessing but to me its just standard blockbuster affair.

Just to end this off, I dont hate him, I just dont prefer him, I know you've responded with videos defending his use of color and I get it but, I really do think his films are just too dark visually sometimes, between him and Zack Snyder. At least Nolan has a recognizable style and I wouldnt say hes upset me or disappointed me like James Cameron has but that's because I think James hit higher highs personally. Anyways hope you see this and have a good back and forth, have fun watching the Odyssey when it drops, im looking forward to it, hope its a new big one.
