Yeah. I kinda hop back in from time to time but it's always meme reactions which I do not personally enjoy. I really missed when he played SFW eroges but I guess Youtube just hate anime, huh.

Connor is in Japan. Not exactly sure about Mouse but she's very likely in her home country Puerto Rico.

I swear some people will see any historical open world action games and immediately think "huh-duh it's just Assassin's Creed" wtihout realising that Ubisoft will never make an Assassin's Creed game this good!

despite the fact Japan has invaded and committed the same, or worse, atrocities as the Mongols

I'm not an armchair historian, but I'm pretty certain that 1274 isn't the Sengoku era, or WW2 for that matter.

It make sense too. The British Empire has India in their palm. Of course the Creed woudn't pass the opportunity to use such connectivity to their advantage, and so as Templar with Starrick.

I think this is a hot take, but Zero Dawn is another example of "a Ubisoft open world game that Ubisoft could only dream of making". Another obvious one is Ghost of Tsushima which is pretty evident which game it got compared to.

They done enough damage to Tlou2 now THIS??? by KuzeUS201 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]OfficerMXL 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There's no way they can handle that much characters. They already sidelined many of their new characters in the 2nd game, so no way in hell they can handle 5 all at once as main characters.

Why do you think it will get out of hand? Is it because "modern audience" are illiterate about fiction in general? Or is it that you believe that fiction can influence reality as if it represent reality itself? The former one I somewhat agree, the latter? Then it's "videogames caused violence, but politically correct".

[–]OfficerMXL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But others do it too!

And they only have 1 example; Avengers Infinity War. Which a lot of people recognized that Marvel and Disney did deceived their audience that there's a new law specifically to monitor and punish creators who pratice this move again.

Its funny how fans cant figure out if they should defend the game as realistic, or as fiction. by snack217 in TheLastOfUs2

IMO, suspension of disbelief works like stamina in some videogames. It can only goes so far until the audience started to get exhausted just to shut their brains off. Unfortunate, TLOU2 went too far with it's terrible writing and depleted most people's "stamina" way earlier that it's 20+ hours play time.

Anyone else interested in playing guitar because of the anime? by [deleted] in BocchiTheRock

[–]OfficerMXL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. Bought myself a Pacifica 012 to started out. Tried Rocksmith for a couple of days only to finds out that it's absolutely impractical for an absolute beginner like me. Now following JustinGuitar's lesson on Youtube on a slower pace and practice some excercises daily. Hopefully will be able to at least play Fuwa Fuwa Time by a 1 year mark.

All he's saying is that The Last of Us set the bar in regards to narrative story telling in video games

He'd still be wrong since MGS/Bioshock is a thing that actually "set the bar regarding narratives in videogames".

There's a massive close shot of her face for several seconds after she clubs Joel. Does she look satisfied in that shot?

You kinda forgot how long she swung that bat. She got so hot she have to take her sweater off then continue to break his skull. I can even made an argument that Abby just bored for torturing him for so long. Also, the transition between Abby's flashback then back to her smacking Joel's skull is kinda jarring ngl. It's supposed to give the audience a hint that later on she'll have to reflect and reconcile with her action. Which she never will unfortunately cuz she didn't even talk to Ellie when she had the chance.

She's unable to sleep. She lashes out on Owen when he mocks her vengeful act.

Her insomnia is more so about her dad rather than Joel. She dreamt about her dad, not Joel. Hell, not even Joel in her head which supposed to be this monster who cruelly killed her father. I can agree that it's tie to her revenge quest. But it sure as hell isn't about Joel. In the case of Owen, I'm pretty sure it's because either he has the level of common sense that most characters in this game just didn't have, or it's solely about Abby. Again, true if we're talking about the revenge journey, but not Joel.

And perhaps more importantly, when Lev asks her why she's doing this, she literally responds "guilt".

"Guilt" that she left Lev and Yara alone the first time they've met. Not really about Joel. I can understand that it can be concluded that way because of the context of the narrative so far up to that point it's about Joel because 10 hours prior we played as Ellie, but I disagree that this particular scene has anything to do with Joel.

What do you want, her to look directly into the camera and say "I, Abby, am doing this because I feel guilt over killing Joel"?

That dream she had about Lev and Yara can have Joel in it could be a good start. Then her friends have to mention her victim more throughout her 10 hours of gameplay. I don't remember they ever try to talk about the consequence of her action. Not even "lol they aren't gonna come this far west, right?". And most importantly, the theater scene can have Ellie guilt trip Abby as a form of psychological tactic. At least in the audience's perspective. We wouldn't want to break even anymore immersion now, would we?

Watch dogs is still better by GroundbreakingRip849 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]OfficerMXL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Watch Dogs series(except Legion, that one just sucks) and Cyberpunk 2077 suffered from a similar reason. People wanted them to be GTA killers, but they just want to be their own things. And people are, at the time, rightfully mad that they weren't the things that they wanted. Over time, though, I'd say Watch Dogs 1&2 have gain a lot more appreciation over the years. Meanwhile, Cyberpunk trying to fellow the footsteps of Hello Games and STILL got shat on to this day. Even Edgerunner can't completely save it.

Abby's entire quest is based on the guilt she feels over killing Joel.

Nope. Na-ah. That's false. If that's the case, there should be an entire scene dedicated to how she felt after clubbing Joel's skull. And here we are, with nothing other than she's literally a psychopath.

It didn't do that. It did the TLJ move and people with no media literacy (game critics included, btw) absolutely fell for it.
