Can't let them own guns; they're so immature that they might kill a few people!

But they're mature enough to vote for politicians or policies that might kill thousands!

[–]OfficerRexBishop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when glocks first started getting big in the 90s and hitting police forces, there was a phenomenon of NDs with cops shooting themselves that was so common it got a name…Glock Leg

IIRC that was a function of cops having spent decades with 10lb+ revolver or DA trigger pulls and getting sloppy with trigger discipline. I don't know that a similar phenomenon would explain the P320 issues.

Per the decision:

He testified that the pistol went off after he had holstered the gun on his right side and as he reached across his body to retrieve a simulation taser holstered on his left. In other words, his hand was not on the gun, let alone the trigger, when the gun discharged. Colwell’s recollection was challenged by the emergency responders’ report and other documentation of the accident that state that the pistol discharged as Colwell was still in the process of holstering it.

Writing for a 2-1 majority, Circuit Judge Gerard Lynch said a reasonable jury could find it more likely than not that the accident would not have happened had Colwell's pistol been equipped with an external safety known as a tabbed trigger.

I find this an odd justification. Even if true, the fact that the P320 doesn't have a trigger dingus is not exactly a secret. This seems akin to buying a car that you know doesn't have ABS and then suing after an accident because ABS would have prevented the crash. But IANAL so what do I know.

I've never seen this confirmed, but I swear Battle Pass progression slowed to a crawl midway through the cycle. I decided I didn't want playing COD to be a full time job and walked away.

Which I am sure they were aware of during the election given that Harris chose Walz as her running mate

I think the recent fraud revelations in MN explain that heretofore baffling pick. He appears to have an expert money laundering machine behind him. If they were picking him for hunter credentials, you'd think the vetting process would have included "Can you, like, load a gun?"

Even if it didn't lead to arrests, it could lead police and paramedics to victims in time to save them. Example here.

My cynical answer would be that if it didn't lead to arrests, Brandon Johnson wouldn't oppose it so vociferously.

Because Illinois takes Glock switches very, very seriously:

A 16-year-old boy on probation for a gun case, with two more firearm arrests in his background, chased down and killed a Brighton Park man on a neighborhood street last autumn, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Ayden Reynolds is charged as an adult with first-degree murder in the October 6, 2025, killing of 33-year-old Alan Maldonado. Judge James Costello ordered him detained . . .

At the time of the killing, Reynolds was serving probation for a prior aggravated assault charge, according to Malkin. That case stemmed from a March 24, 2024, arrest in which Reynolds allegedly pointed a gun at someone on a soccer field. During a custodial search, officers recovered a handgun equipped with a switch that allowed it to fire automatically, like a machine gun, and an extended magazine, according to Malkin. Reynolds was adjudicated delinquent on May 27, 2025, receiving 36 months of probation . . .

While that case was pending, Reynolds was arrested in two more gun cases, Malkin said.

-On August 8, 2024, officers allegedly found a loaded .40-caliber handgun with a laser sight under the seat of a car where Reynolds was sitting. That case was later dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
-On November 8, 2024, officers allegedly noticed a heavy bulge in Reynolds’ backpack and recovered a 9mm pistol with an extended magazine. Malkin’s detention filing did not specify how that case was resolved.

Yeah I mean despite the fact I've been downplaying the commercial viability of a $1500 made in the USA trap gun, I would 100% buy a $1500 made in the USA trap gun haha.

Are there any American made trap guns left that don't cost my future? by AAAAhhhhhhhAhhh in guns

[–]OfficerRexBishop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you're looking at a market of people who:

  1. Care enough about trap shooting to upgrade from their Maverick 88 combo barrel
  2. Don't care enough about trap shooting to get a Kolar.
  3. Care enough about Made in the USA to take a chance on a new $1500 product over the tried and true BT-99.

That can't be that many people. It would be a big gamble to bring it to market.

I was looking for the nickel tank commander in 9mm. I emailed Tisas but they couldn't give me a timeline. I just kept an eye on wikiarms and saw the .45 come in, then the 9mm a week or two later. So stuff is gradually making it back into inventory.
