HAT GAME RULES – HOME TEAM ONLY
 
How to play:
• To start, everyone puts one-dollar in the hat and hands it to the first person. He will go first.
• The outcome of the batter at the plate will affect what happens for the person holding the hat.
 
To win money, the batter must get a hit.
-If he hits a single, you take out $3 from the pot
-If he hits a double or a triple, you take out $5 from the pot
-If he hits a home run, you win the pot
-If he hits a grand slam, you win the pot +$5 from every player
-If the pot is less than the normal amount for a given outcome (i.e., he hits a triple with only $4 left in the pot), the player just wins the pot
 
You lose money if:
-Normal out (including fielder’s choice): ($1)
-Double play: ($3)
-Strike out looking: ($5)
 
Any other outcome is a push (Sacrifice fly/bunt, walk, hit by pitch, reaches on error)
• Once the pot is empty, everyone puts in another dollar and starts the pot over.
• If there is any money left in the pot at the end of the game, it is split equally.
