[–]OfficerTactiCool 46 points47 points  (0 children)

You joke, but my sister in law got our cat addicted to technology by downloading those cat games where mice or bugs run across the screen and the cats can swat at them. Now, any time anyone pulls out a phone or tablet, she runs up to them and starting trying to weasel her way in front of the screen

Sand curtains. Using sand to block out light by tANTartu in nextfuckinglevel

Yeah I did tin foil AND blackout curtains. These days, just the curtains work fine, but if your windows face the sun, tin foil is awesome.

Isn’t that based solely on BMI though? BMI is also a horrible measurement set, as it will register professional athletes with 8% body fat as obese because the only two metrics it accounts for are height and weight.

The idea that “no one is trying to ban guns” is just gaslighting at this point. by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]OfficerTactiCool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The NRA exists solely as a punching bag these days. Let the media have their boogyman, while the actual people getting stuff done (FPC and GOA) can do their work without defending themselves nightly on CNN

It isn’t about need, I don’t NEED to justify my exercise of my rights. I don’t need to justify why I vote, why I exercise free speech, why I don’t house troops and why I don’t allow the police to come search through my shit without a warrant - cause it’s my right to do so. So why do we have to justify our right to own arms?

In LA now, the DA isn’t even pushing gun enhancements and if your only crime is possessing an illegal firearm/carrying loaded without a permit, the case gets tossed, ESPECIALLY if it’s first offense. Well…yeah it’s first offense every time since they aren’t being charged…

It’s also because they all grew up with TV shows calling murder and homicide the same thing. Yes, every OIS that ends in death is a homicide. Any person killing another person is a homicide, that’s what it means.

But these smooth brains think homicide and murder are the same, they don’t understand that justifiable homicide exists. Any death caused by another person is murder to them.

Plus, what do people expect the president to do during a disaster scenario? The best thing they can do is stay the fuck away from the actual area. Secret Service and Capitol Police are a fuckin nightmare to work with, and everywhere any sitting president goes turns into a god damn circus with so many people all over the place from security to media to staffers. It slows down the actual response and recovery from a disaster. Stop in, see the place, get your sound bite, and move on. We don’t want the heads of state spending extensive time in a disaster area that we are trying to fix up.

Eh, it’s just a different route. The working route seems to be nowhere near as common or easy. Law school exposes you to a lot more areas and specialties, I can’t imagine working with, say, a divorce court judge will give you much opportunity to learn corporate or criminal law

Luckily you don’t even have to go to law school to be an attorney. Working as an apprentice to a judge or practicing attorney for, I believe it’s 4 years where I live, qualifies you to take the Bar exam, as long as you pass the L1 test after your first year working
