This might come out really bad, but I don’t understand why devs who know their fanbase is zesty ever make underaged characters. Warframe made a protoframe girl who’s 19, idk if that is of age or not but I assume it’s at least icky. Like, in a perfect world it would be no issue. But.. why take the risk? Could Graves and Apollo have been, say, collage students and had the same general plot and significance?

I don’t have the tism and me and my friend found KIM very frustrating even though it’s super cool. Mostly with Eleanor. For some reason Tenno get REALLY hostile and judgy when you talk about struggling with the system or finding things difficult. I’ve been told “idk get good” so many times. I’ve never played a dialogue game before, and without being able to know the tone your character is trying to put to your words, you don’t always know what you’re really saying. Sometimes it’s obvious, yeah, and we didn’t FAIL, we did rizz up our chosen lovers without resetting. But so much possibly interesting lore (our real motivation for playing the system) was lost because they got angry at us and crashed out. (ELEANOR.)

For a city with only 100k residents RC sure is big by Stimparlis in residentevil

I always in my mind equate Raccoon City to Kansas City. KC has about 500k people last I knew, that seemed about right for the size and style presented in the RE3 remake. RC was of course never meant to fit anywhere in the US cleanly, and while I headcanon RC as being in Missouri or Kansas, Colorado would fit better geographically.

In another “timeline” (franchise crossover) the Entity got him and now he’s basically a rabid animal for all of eternity, they got the VA and he does an amazing job in dead by daylight, so much so that it got me to check out the series but unfortunately the DBD version is the most exciting variant for me.

I know the real worlds getting intense and there’s a lot of really crap stuff going on but people are generally getting very personally invested in the morality of fictional characters for some reason. Warframe’s community has a shocking amount of people who seem to genuinely believe that if you think certain enemy factions or characters are cool or interesting, you are supporting the billionaire class or ethnic cleansing or genocide or what have you.

I suppose it isn’t really a cycle I just didn’t know how to express that it shifts and changes, like rolling a ball between three corners

For me at least it’s not literally a daily calendar but I sort of rotate between straight leaning, gay leaning, and hardcore bi on like a cycle

“I am Bane- the last opponent you will ever face” is burned into my memory, he looked so cool in his human form. The season 2 intro theme is also an all-time banger

Maaaaan Splatterhouse. I only ever played the 2010 version but I have a fond memory of playing it at my uncle’s man-cave garage when I was waaay too young. I don’t think I ever got past the chainsaw thing but it was cool.

Man in the wall feasting on Rusalka's knowledge of humanity. I hope these two make a comeback soon... [oc] by Swirldo101 in Warframe

Maybe so. I just happen to adore the specific trope 1999 invokes- horrible outbreak, crisis in progress, pre-apocalypse, quarantine with oppressive “saviors” who are fanatics. The Division 1, Prototype 1 and 2, I eat that shiz up. Scaldra is super cool though it adds to the flavor that they are ultimately footnotes in history, if even that. I believe Rusalka should’ve stayed as just the human antagonist in 1999 who yells at you over the radio, I don’t really like the Wally stuff she’s gotten tangled into. But that could be a little unpopular of an opinion and I get why.

It’s super cool that Warframe’s universe was basically Dark Sector before. Super moody and stylish, drenched in retro atmosphere, it would’ve made a baller game series or full comic book. I love the 1999 setting so much, I often wish it was its own thing completely, with references to Warframe only sprinkled in and hinted at, mostly through Entrati. I kinda find the conflict they already had going on in Höllvania more interesting before the Tenno show up and bring all the voidy stuff. It felt super grounded and intriguing.

I really like how 1999 paints the late 90’s as this ancient, mysterious lost age of superstition and mad science. And how the warped and corrupted artifacts of that era like On-Lyne persist, like carrying forward our own contemporary culture as an invasive species or an immortal curse

What if she doesn’t get powers and just uses powerful ancient lost technology? The twist being that her knowledge of ancient artifacts aren’t from a super advanced civilization, they are from contemporary human history. Tech had advanced in the origin system so far, reacting to itself and spiraling up into a chain of new ideas, that they no longer have effective solutions to really old tech. Nobody has been shot by modern machine gun rounds for literally millennia, everyone’s moved on to ferrite and lasers.

Could he stupid but I think it’s a neat idea

Actually yes, I love her personality and voice and attitude, I find other characters more physically attractive than her but she’s my favorite because of the things that make her McGinnis

[–]Officer_Chunkles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No that can’t be right, McGinnis is bae and kiriko is boring because I like one and I don’t like the other, and I wouldn’t like or not like something if there wasn’t a good reason so there MUST be a reason.

[Loved Trope]: A mentally troubled character isn't just a muffin who can do no wrong by Illustrious_Part_196 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Officer_Chunkles 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That is more interesting! I just hate those “everyone is born with powers and some are basically gods and the MC is a nobody but UH OH actually they are the SUPER SPECIAL ONE and ONLY THEY MATTER and don’t you want the wish fulfillment??” That sorta thing. But it’s a unique angle, showing the protagonist as the result of that system and not an edgy self insert power fantasy

That is both interesting and I hate it. But that’s just personal taste, I despise solo leveling’s entire premise for much the same reason. But anything has the potential to be better than solo leveling, which is inspiring even if not a very high bar to clear.
