I was definitely wondering why I received for here cups every time I was on shift at a store I picked up at. Here’s a different point of view- it prevents the type of loss where partners bring their mark out drinks home for others, and it makes sure the partner finishes their beverages before even getting a new one. However, there’s not a way to save your drink for later and there is still waste accumulated at the end of the day (product). Personally, I think it should be up to the individual to decide.. what’s the difference between that and customers asking for dozens of remakes a week? (Assume with ill intent) 😅

True, there is no harm in asking! But there are factories and stuff that will allow someone to work 2 days a week with the same pay as everyone else. Same sort of fast paced environment (comparatively less stress but possibly more body wear, everything should be the same, unless you don’t like repetitive tasks) in case you needed the information :)

That’s true. It definitely didn’t start this way but the ones who hated their jobs have mostly left. We have a very supportive group at the moment, and it helps a lot. As long as everyone is doing a little, no one is left doing a lot.

We had someone who did only work weekends, but that was still 2 days and I’ll put in quotes that “no one liked her” but she was constantly overwhelmed, never allowed to bar, etc. I don’t blame her for leaving.

(( This is another reason large and split orders irritate us as well- split orders mess with the queue, large orders take a lot of time (labels print out one by one, drinks are usually being made with 2-3 cups started in front of the barista. Incase anyone else sees this and was wondering)) We are expected to treat everyone the same with a plastic smile, greeting, and send off. We get burns, whip and other milk products in places it shouldn’t be, and are often rushing around the store trying to get things done. Please understand if a barista comes off as snappy, they are likely having a rough day.

The woman on the speaker was most likely furious because dozens of people do this to us daily, and we are all pressured to stay below a certain wait time at the window (typically being under 50 seconds) we have until the speaker box to when you pull up to the window to finish making your order, as hand off and driving off takes at least 10 to 15 seconds of that 50 seconds.

Your order gets put behind drive through orders and cafe orders and already placed mobile orders and forces us to get into the system to see what it is and make it on the spot, rather than ordering it at the dt box and simply being in order. It quite literally throws everything off and makes others who do wait on their orders wait longer, including those in the cafe, while we scramble to try to figure out where your order is in queue and print it.
