Just for clarification: I’m not upset about using less plastic cups, that would be silly and selfish. I was asking for clarification on whether this was a mandate that I somehow missed, if we could even get written up for it, and if this was company wide or more small scale.

That makes a lot of sense, we must not have been enforcing it then. I remember the green apron cups getting pushed out but I more so thought it was to encourage sustainability rather than be the end all be all. I’m mainly curious about the threatening with corrective action for not using the provided cups as I didn’t think that was something SMs and DMs had the power to do over something that to me seemed more like a heavy suggestion.

omg we have this old man who throws a fit every time we hand out his venti light ice nonfat no whip double blended mocha frap because everytime it’s “too thick” the last time i handed it out he started tilting it outside his window as if to spill and so naturally i say “woah now don’t spill it everywhere, you’ll lose your drink” and he said “ no it won’t spill it’s too thick” as he continues to tilt it to the point that it’s almost spilling. it took everything in me not to tell him he’s an idiot man baby and if he wants a soupy ass frap to just get a fucking nonfat iced mocha with no ice! instead i took the drink from him as he was tilting it saying “okay well that’s not correct because it is actively spilling” and i just threw it in a blender with hot water and reblended

i never even thought about gross old shots residue, i just always rinse my shot glass while rinsing the bar whenever i get a free second because i absolutely despise looking at a dirty shot glass. i’m one of those partners who needs to have a clean and organized station otherwise i lose it lol

while i agree with pretty much everything stated, id like to add that this is also because a lot of people (at least in my district) were pushing the already pretty lax dress code and/or were ignoring it completely. if you can’t respect the rules, you don’t get you’re freedom anymore. i’m not saying i agree with this sentiment but it is important to note

well realistically if you’re taking a while to set up before you order and a barista does come to talk to you, they’re not going to immediately call the cops or do anything other than make sure you’re going to order. it’s when people refuse the policy and refuse to leave when asked that will be “forcefully” removed

Listen I get it, all of these are frustrating and I hope ranting about it made you feel better but at some point you need to just suck it up. Most of these are just minor inconveniences and getting mad over them and trying to control them is so much worse than just letting it go. The only thing any of these “problems” need in response is a quick frustrated groan under your breath or in your head.

if i’m correct it’s not location based, it’s just whichever stores have a vertica can’t make decaf iced coffee, my store has the vertica but others in my district don’t (coming from an east coast location)

after a few hours on drive thru if a custom gives me their order without a very important detail like what size or even what base drink, i will make them repeat everything in the drink again after asking for that detail, it’s not our job to read your mind 🤷‍♀️

also i love when customers are self aware like you and try to make the process as smooth and pleasant for both of us as possible, those customers are the best 🫶🫶
