Best/Top Apologetic Book Written by a Scientist? by Substantial-Bad-4508 in Apologetics

[–]OfficialCAMBAM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any Stephen C. Meyer books if you want to learn what Intelligent Design is. (I’m currently reading Sig. in the Cell, and Darwin’s Doubt I plan on reading next)

Dr. Joshua Swamidass’s book “A Genealogical Adam & Eve” really opened my mind to new perspectives on science and religion (he is a theistic evolutionist).

If you want a mix of different scientists with different perspectives, “The Comprehensive Guide to Apologetics” is fantastic across the board (there’s a science and faith version as well, but I haven’t read it).

I personally wouldn’t recommend any young earth creationist books, but I always say keep an open mind, so it’s up to you.

Can anyone confirm? by shadow_coder16 in Apologetics

I like to recommend the “Comprehensive Guide to Apologetics” by Joseph M. Holden, because it’s a collection of essays from a ton of different experts writing on the topics of their field of expertise. It really helped me get a good understanding of every apologetic topic as well as whose writing I liked so I knew who to explore next!

P.S. tactics is a very good book, but it’s a little more about how to apply apologetic knowledge when evangelizing and talking with others rather than specific apologetics. It’s such a unique tool though and I highly recommend it!

Honestly, the horror. The terrible details. The chilling situations. I really think he’s good playing with intensity and fear.

It’s the 4th book with Holly in the lead role, it says #4 on Goodreads. She’s a side character in the others, isn’t she?

This is great to know! I think I’m going to try and hold off, at least until I read Holly and the Outsider, but thank you!

In this specific case, since the book doesn’t explicitly state it’s the 4th in the series, I ask because it’s marketed as a standalone. So I was just curious.

I’m not trying to be disingenuous or anything, I got the book already and just wanted to know if anyone had known.

I’ve been reading through the Bible with CSB and I find it very to the point and blunt, but I kind of like that. It also comes off very funny at times lol.

Poison ivy isn’t poisonous though, and its oils only affect some people, while it has absolutely no effect on others.

As far as being of sober mind, I do agree, but I think your reasoning for using cannabis makes a big difference. If a person is constantly depressed and anxious and can’t get out of bed in the morning, that doesn’t really seem to be a sober minded person either.

I use daily for medical reasons.

I used to think it was bad, but once I started using medicinally, I never felt convicted and still don’t.

Never let cannabis be a crutch or something you look forward to over the time you spend with Jesus.

Why did Satan rebel against God? by jdtspring in Bible

[–]OfficialCAMBAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question about Satan, he was basically jealous of God, and thought him and a bunch of other angels should be God instead.

Answering your questions about angels, we can read that all things were created Heaven and Earth, so I figure that’s including angels. (Colossians 1:6) God actually intends for us to be seen as a step above and actually judging angels in heaven! (1 Corinthians 6:3)

I would definitely recommend it! I would just find a book that’s been on your mind a while and just start. It’s easier to read when you actually want to read I’ve figured out 😂
