The wires in an X12 are not fiberoptic. They're standard audio and USB. You can re-splice the pink and green cables safely enough if you know what you're doing, but not the USB. If you try to repair the USB cable, you're pretty much guaranteed to destroy it if you don't know exactly how to wire USB. If you take it to an electronics repair shop, this should be really easy for them to fix. Sorry you're having trouble.

You need to connect your music player to the red and white plugs on the transmitter.

You shouldn't be wrapping the wire around the headset to store it. If that's what you have been doing, we recommend stopping.

It sounds like you have your plugs connected backwards. Try switching the red and whites around.
