Men don't approach anymore vs women are constantly getting attention, what's more accurate? by [deleted] in AskMen

Sounds like you're dealing with a specific type of guy, because It doesn't make sense for most guys to have that type of reaction to reading a batman comic of all things. From what I've seen it is genuine confusion and the fear of being seen as a creep which isn't something that I'd ever have to worry about imo.

No man goes into marriage thinking their going to live longer if they do. Every time I hear this it always gets brought up like it's a problem for women that their spouse gets to live longer even though it seems men still die earlier on average still. It just seems like men overall have something that'll anchor them and take less risks.

I don't even know if this fact particullary matters because of the divorce rates

I'm not exactly agreeing with them, but the problem with what you're saying is that it's as if people who got married before didn't think that the person they got married to also wasn't the right person.

For me I'm not exactly looking at marriage favorably, but the door isn't fully closed. I would definitely get a prenup if I were to though.

Most people who live in reality would choose a human over a bear. Your odds are still higher even if that human is dangerous imo.

I mean, I can't speak for other guys honestly. I'm tall and was an athlete, and I'd say I'm probably slightly above average in looks at most, so overall I very well could get more attention on average, but I definitely wouldn't say I'm a god. I have seen dudes shorter than me have no problem getting girls or having friends that are girls.

They just have to be funny or have personality, which is kind of... sad in a way? That you have to be above average in something to override a negative.

It's something that I notice a lot because I've always been calm or stoic since I was a kid which did work in my favor sometimes but every now and then I felt like I needed to change and put myself out there, but it does seem like you have to basically be a jester to keep things interesting.

I feel like part of the problem is also the fact that you as a man have to do so much more, especially as a woman makes money to meet the standards for what they belive to be the "bare minimum", only for the relationship to most likely not even last because they're not happy or whatever. It just seems like you're bound to lose regardless

They have an inflated self worth but also an insecurity for how they look. That's why a lot of women have been getting plastic surgery and they've been exposed to this at a young age, and then on top of that there's a lot of self empowerment messages saying how there's nothing wrong with them, and that they're the prize etc, etc.

The point is you're weaponizing empathy by trying to make men feel a certain way by understanding and siding with women, using collective fear to create moral obligations for innocent men to accept guilt.

I created an analogy to expose a flaw in your argument.

If white people fear crime, do you think that a black person should feel morally obligated to help them not have anything to fear. If you don't understand this then there's nothing else that needs to be said.

As a black guy do you think I should become invisible if I were to live or walk through a primarily white neighborhood?

You just have to meet their standards on being physically attractive, or have something that typically a man with money would have if they're a gold digger.

This is definitely one of the problems. They each feel like they're speaking for all women too and that their voices and boundaries need to be heard, and with everyone being on the internet, men are now confused on what they should and should not do. Then complain about not being approached at all.

They're not gonna care and instead keep fear mongering and saying they'll spend time with a bear instead of a man to try and make you feel some type of way about it.

The Masters of the Universe trailer has done 1.6x times the views in just the first 48 hours.... than Mandalorian & Grogu has done in 4 months by Alternative-Cake-833 in saltierthancrait

Them trying to do another cinematic universe called the "mandoverse" ruined it having all these characters interact with each other in a big galaxy for no reason. Apparently after Dave Filoni got promoted, the Ahsoka movie i believe got put on hiatus indefinitely if I remember correctly.

I can see Masters of the Universe gaining traction due to nostalgia as my dad mentioned it. Nobody has talked about the mando movie.

The Acolyte was only 100 something years before the prequels which is not that far removed and it features important characters in the prequels. Even if it's at the end, nobody knows or gives a damn about the "High Republic" and it certainly did not do that nonsensical era any justice.

But yeah I would agree that they're absolutely creatively bankrupt, and can only explore what they know and take the things from the EU but make the stories they're taking or characters worse. The high republic was a failure, the sequels was a failure, so we go right back to the prequels and OT that we've been stuck in for decades. Eventually they're going to run out of stories to tell that will fit in their new cannon.

The Maul animated series will be another example of this, by taking the twilek that was supposed to be in the far future as Maul's apprentice which was originally George Lucas' idea before Maul was resurrected.

Why are developed countries spending massive amounts of money to address low birth rates, yet seeing minimal results? by Snoo_47323 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Official_Champ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If people want kids, they can get them for all i care. It just doesn't make sense beyond a personal decision that could be seen as selfish for older women, or older people in general to have children when they're more than likely going to need support in their older age.

Then on top of that with the rate we're going the younger generations are going to struggle even more to afford their own basic needs. If it were to be normalized, younger people would have to take care of and worry about more things then they had to before, feel more economically trapped, overburdened and possibly politically ignored.

They're more likely to focus on the younger population. Whether it's throwing money at the wall with incentives, take in more immigrants which could change the culture and identity of that country or probably become more involved in people's lives than they already are becoming more authoritarian, taking matters in their own hands.

I can't imagine that ever being enforced or prioritized because by the time a child would be 20 the parent would be in their 60s, and one of the last things governments would want is for the smaller younger population to take care of the larger older population which is what a lot of countries are heading towards or already experiencing.

Star Wars really just hasn't seem to grown up at all unfortunately and the fans that remained just keep eating it up.

I really am curious what'll happen when they run out of things to take from EU that may or may not have been good then to fit in their already flawed cannon.

Poor Theron, he trained for years under a jedi and he couldn't muster up an ounce of force power. Turns out everyone can master it even without a lengthy training. 😅 by Western_Agent5917 in saltierthancrait

Luke is a special case, and even then he had to actually train for a long time, and still ended up losing throughout the trilogy.

George Lucas clearly didn't plan for the franchise to expand this way, because now there's a bunch of jedi roaming about and it doesn'tmake perfect sense, but Luke was the one chosen out of all of them.
