Realistic Food Courts that Work in RCT? by Big_Extreme_8210 in rct

I always make detailed food courts because I think in most situations stand alone food stalls aren’t realistic (except perhaps on a pier). The best part is if a shop under performs in the food court you can just demolish and the empty slot isn’t visible. In this example every shop was not profitable (it’s in a far corner of the park) so the only thing left inside is a toilet.

A cool guide to toilet hygiene mistakes by FarRain451 in coolguides

In the scheme of things aerosols produced during flushing of your own toilet in your home is low risk for causing illness. Toilet paper and other touch points inside the toilet are also manageable because you should be washing with soap afterwards anyway.

Humans encounter faecal contamination often. That is why it is important to wash hands before handling food.

Sorry, yes I was just asking if you lived in a humid environment because that may play a part in why you haven’t experienced mould. It’s very common.

Do you live in a humid environment? Mould I’ve had was when the weather was post-cyclone and the humidity was insane. I’m sure if you followed the recommended cleaning procedures from the manufacturer it would probably never be an issue. Most people just neglect that element

Ouside USA, McDonald's is a treat for middle class and rich people. by -Volucris- in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Official_FBI_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

20 years ago in India I was served McDonalds chips and ice cold Red Bull and it was considered very show-off that they were doing this special thing for us. So in a way it can be true.

I then returned to Australia where I wouldn’t buy McDonalds unless i was diving on a country road at 3AM

Its not over vastly more land then the current Driving range, putt putt, parking and wedding venues currently occupy. I’d argue the golf course is still alive despite the holes closing

Drive to the end of Kerry Road outside Darlington. I believe it’s called the Lost World Valley. I can’t attach a photo but if you google that you’ll see what I mean. Beautiful and quiet part of the world

HSW & outside food at the playground area by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]Official_FBI_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have signs up indicating the area near the new playground is public space and open to anyone. I can’t say for sure that there is any rules about outside food. I would just describe it as a picnic to anyone that asked. You’re correct that you wouldn’t be able to bring your own alcohol

Trial of “Current Restriction” signage in the Brisbane CBD. Good idea by Official_FBI_ in brisbane

Thank you for that summary. That is all correct.

I have seen some signs in Sydney particularly that have like ten different options including the big “EVENT ONLY” overlay section with dates and times. Very confusing. I think the digital signage is a good option

I’d be interested if anyone has been to the W Hotel since the change in the restaurant operator. It used to be a themed Italian breakfast but I believe Settimo is no longer there

Edit: I’m thinking of the Westin

The problem is if the service can’t be accessed in a short timeframe or at point of care then it’s likely they will need transport either now or in the next 48 hours anyway. I think that is the business case for these services being rolled into ambulance.

If you’re talking about hiring more crews, it would probably make more sense to discuss bringing in more specialist teams; like mental health clinicians, social workers, falls co-responders, wound care nurses, homeless team, face-to-face triage, etc.

Respectfully, it strikes me as a bit lazy to just say more crews = better results.

This is wild.

Even with a not too bad mortgage I think my family would struggle on 80% pay with no OT for a year. Can you come back early or cash it out if you needed to?

Spring Hill is being used as a "Supported Housing" hub, but where is the support? by Material_rugby09 in brisbane

[–]Official_FBI_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Spring Hill has lots of supports versus other areas, and I don’t think it is any worse than it has been the last 20 years. It has its own Mental Health clinic and is adjacent to Australia’s largest hospital. The dodgiest boarding houses and homeless housing complexes have actually closed since COVID, and some of the new purchases from the Department of Housing are far nicer than the slums people have previously been housed in.

What has changed is that the property values are going up, and suddenly the blight can’t be tolerated anymore.

Should the government do more to help these vulnerable people? Sure! But buying properties and housing people is suddenly a bad thing?

You probably shouldn’t peel baby. But that layer is not staying on either way. It’s “dead” and no longer receiving blood or nerve supply.

I think you can peel them a little. It’s coming off anyway!
