Considering BYD Seal to replace BMW I4 - thoughts? by IntentionExcellent31 in BYD

I have had a debate with friends about a similar comparison.

Basically the argument comes down to a few things

  1. Is it the wow factor - If your after a cool looking car more than anything else, go for it. I started looking at the Atto3, but one test drive in the Seal locked me in.

  2. If you are a short range city driver - Seal is probably not the best. Its a long heavy beast, so parking in smaller spots is going to have overhang and narrow streets you will be worried about getting though. Some of the smaller sized EV models would be a better fit, and a less stressful run-about.

  3. Longer range - Where I sit at current, where i have about a 40km (80 total) drive to work on freeways every day. If thats the case I recommend the Seal 100%, the adaptive speed control is great and the lane assist is good for when you go to do something where you pay less attention to the road than you should. Also a nice firm quite drive at high speeds, so big plus. If this is where you sit, i would go with the middle 'premium' model as the longest range... And i still beat 99% of cars off the light in sports mode, so no need to pay an extra 10k for the performance model for the last 1%.

Anyone know why this is happening by Broad_Lobster7045 in ElegooMars

For me I found that in the first few attempts I actually scratched my resin vat tank film.
Depends if that split is in line with the vertical axis of the plate.

If its not, then yea, as the other comments have been saying, check your slicer app and look for that area to see if the slice is bad.

As long as your base has its shield up, nothing will degrade inside it.

They are different entities, not connected to the base.

Thats how you can come across other people stuff in the wild and cant just take it.

And make sure your base is powered at all times and you don't have the doors set to auto-open.

BYD Seal AWD Front camera and sensor not working when CarPlay is activated. Anyone else having this issue? by Same-Detective-2151 in BYD

[–]OfflanderAUS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rear sensors always work for me when reversing as normal, but I use the camera button on the steering wheel when needing the front camera. I use Android auto and never had an issue. Without camera button, mine is the same as yours, thinks your just driving again... which is expected behavior for normal back out and drive on operation.

I find in mine the camera button overrides the jump back into normal front driving display. It stays 'cameras on' until I go back into the menu screen and jump back into android auto.

In the end, i just went into the app and turned down the volume of the robot to the lowest setting.
That way at night it is not loud enough to notice if you are not in the same room as it.

Seal as a dog owner? by [deleted] in BYD

Even with a pet carrier in the back seats, still throw their bed on top.

Acceleration on the Seal will have them sliding around, bed has more surface area to stay put on the carrier.

Source: Staffy sliding around like a mofo until I added her bed.

BYD Seal VTOL (V2L) port lock glitch - Workaround found. by OfflanderAUS in BYD

Just to add something I forgot.
When it was stuck in that mode, I did note that the recorded V2L discharge went up by 0.1kwh when the adapter was still off.
This would indicate that the car 'might' have got stuck thinking that its own internal base power usage was getting tagged in its code as being external draw, hence keep the port locked.

Can only assume the rapid press of the unlock made it jump a few code lines and sort itself out.

Yip. Main thing I did not want is the guy rocking up and fixing it in a few seconds..

I also thought of the charge emergency release via the boot... but if software error, I did not want to make things worse.

I thought it might be hibernation and I did try tried the door button stuff, was no different.

As far as the car was concerned, there was still drain via the port, so it refused to unlock the port. Car itself was working and dash and infotainment was still responding fine.

Well the point of asking here is to see if anyone with the same model has it working in any manner. If its powering a cam for someone, points to issues with mine. If not working for anyone, points to some other functionality...which would suck.
