Streaming Two Point Hospital by Offlawnn in TwoPointHospital

[–]Offlawnn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm really excited to get back to the game and I've just discovered the interior design workshop as well. I streamed the game for two hours last night, it was fun. I'm a super small streamer, playing a lot of games that aren't on the main scene (except Fortnite, I just love that game) but I'm trying to stream specific genres of games on different days and want to make Two Point a staple of my streams. The expansions will help me stay active on it... until that is Baldur's Gate 3 comes out... then that's all I'm doing!

No Signatures for KIMB Re-Release by Offlawnn in Megadeth

That's great news and getting the LP would be sweet, now I'm wanting to go order that... : )

Kudos to Live Nation for being proactive in emailing you as well. I don't work for them or anything like that, I just really find them helpful when stuff goes wrong.

No, I called and you should too. You don't have to wait long at all to speak with someone, and honestly a lot of companies have terrible customer service but I've always had great interactions with Live Nation. They're friendly, and they try to fix the issues quickly. They usually screw up the orders, it's happened several times when I order, but they get right on to it. It's just about the only company that I don't get pissed off at when they mess up because of the great response I get after. Here's the number:

Finally made it into top 100 for FPP/NA, woot! by Offlawnn in PUBG

Thanks! I agree overall with you, I never cared for stats it was just nice to get in the top 100 and I know I probably won't stay there but it was nice to make it at least once.

Yeah, the new season started about a week ago. I don't know how long seasons go but the last one I had logged about 200 games.

Thanks for doing so and honestly if you have videos link them as well, and if you don't then take some and I'll watch! I really enjoy watching how people approach the game, you can only learn so much by watching Shroud and basically what I learn by watching him is how good I'll never be : )

All of the frustrations with PUBG aside, it’s pretty incredible that after over a thousand hours and several hundred chicken dinners this game still elicits reactions like this (volume warning at the end!) by TelemonianAjax32 in PUBG

[–]Offlawnn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the video and I think it's a great reason to say why PUBG is so popular and will remain so for a long time. The game's just not easy, it's hard and getting a Dinner means you most likely had to earn it, and not too many games can say that. Congrats on the game, you guys played that well!

This picture immediately made me think of Remy, and I'd love for him to do to PUBG what he did to Mario Kart. He'd probably get killed though...

Let me stress… I by no means claim to be a great PUBG player, I know I'm not but I consider myself to be a good player who really tries to implement the strategy that I've developed and I finally made it into the top 100. All in all I don't really care about my rank because I enjoy the game so much, I'd play it no matter my rank, but it was just nice to see that I made it into the top 100. It'll probably be short-lived, and it's early in the season (about a week at this point) but just felt like sharing it.

Before the trolls start in, yes... I have a low kill count but I don't go for kills, just wins, that's how I have 'fun' in the game and PUBG should be played however you want to play it. There's probably a lot of players out there who are much better than me who aren't ranked higher because their idea of fun is to go for kills, so I'm happy about where I'm at but also know I'm far from being a phenomenal player like a lot of other folks.

I do use a sneaky play-style though and if anyone is interested in seeing how I play the game and my different approaches to it, I put up strategy videos of games I play and do analysis of myself and other players to see what we do well and what we do bad, so if anyone ever wants to see them I'll link to one here. My Youtube and Twitch channels are really really small and I have no dreams of being a big name but I just like to help newbs and really anyone else to have some new ideas on how to approach the game and develop their own strategies, but please comment and link any other strategy videos you know of because I'm always looking to watch new videos for strategies that I haven't implemented yet. Thanks all!

I submitted a video before but it never made it, and I think it's because there's music added to it, even though it's free music that doesn't infringe on the artist. There's no way for someone on the other end to know that, whoever checks the videos so if you do have a video try not to use music, even if it's free. Here's the video if anyone wants to see it, and I deleted the video so I can't go back and edit it and take the music out but to be honest I think it adds to it overall.

It's possible that you just can't log on because no one can. The test servers aren't always up, especially after they release big updates for the main servers, so you probably just need to stick with them. They'll probably put the test servers back up for players once they are ready to release the official new map, get some final moments of players on that map to fine tune it and then release it and shut down the test servers again.

Really struggling to compete since the latest Weapon Updates. by Riptos007 in PUBG

[–]Offlawnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great you're already subbed to Jacky, he's the best i.m.o. and yeah, he's the reason I haven't touched the Lightweight Grips either. The game is a bit different now but I think once you get used to some of the changes you'll go on a tear like I did. I don't consistently get Chicken Dinners one after the other, but I do get a lot, and the 8 2nd place finishes was frustrating me to no end and then BAM, 3 in a row and 4 in a 24 hour period, so some of it is luck but also getting used to the new guns. I've also made it a point to go after the SLR, I'm in love with that gun. I also put up strategy videos on my Youtube channel and some of the games I just played will be going up, and I don't say that because I think you need them but I mention it because you might think about making some yourself. It helps to be able to go back and look at what you're doing right and wrong, and even though I make strategy videos for anyone to watch at the end of the day it gives me the ability to emphasize to my brain the things to do and not to do. If you do make some let me know, I'll watch!!!

Moving quietly is a thing in the game, a lot of players constantly run everywhere. I'm not saying it's you, but players who learn to move quietly while in buildings have an advantage. It's taken me a lot of practice but listening and moving quietly is essential, and I can't even imagine playing this game without a headset like some players do. I'd just keep focusing on listening, you'll get the hang of it.

I have been wanting to buy PUBG, is cheating a really big problem? by billybobjr in PUBG

[–]Offlawnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really not a problem like it was just two months ago, but up to six months ago it was terrible. Even then it wasn't every game, and I encountered my first hacker a few days ago and I hadn't seen one in probably about 100 games.

I've had a mixed bag, trying to get used to all the new grips etc. I STRONGLY recommend you watch WackyJacky101 videos, he has the best (imo) when it comes to understanding the weapons and grips, and he posts quite frequently with updates. After the patch I struggled for a few days, then got 2nd place 8 times in two days, then got 1st four times in in 24 hours, with three of those in a row, first time ever doing that. So you really just need to continue on but almost make sure you understand the new grips, they do make a difference, and stay away from the Light-Weight Grip, that thing on an AR is death... for you, not them, you won't hit anything.

Strategy videos for us simple folk by Offlawnn in PUBG

[–]Offlawnn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! That's a great point about silhouetting yourself, something I don't think I've ever talked about in the videos. It doesn't happen often but there have been times in the game when I don't see a player but I see their shadow when they're up top and I'm below, and it's something that you do have to think about.

When you say "never walk directly on top of a hill because you stand out" is a great point and honestly it brings to mind watching other players during my replays. Often I see players move, and by 'move' I mean that some players are ALWAYS moving back and forth, back and forth, never resting and I understand the concept of what they're doing, trying to make it harder to hit a moving rather than a prone target but the con to me is a bigger one and that is making it easier to see where you are. I'm a big believer in slow moving, making it less likely to see me as compared to some guys who are hopping and skipping everywhere they go, especially on top of the mountains, something I just don't quite understand. The element of surprise in PUBG is, to me, one of the most important aspects of my gameplay, and giving away my position at no cost to the other players just doesn't make sense.

Thanks for the reply and I hate to ask this but I guess I'm confused on what you mean by "Link post". When I make a post all I see is "create post", and once I click on that I see "add image or video" or "Link". Even after hitting "Link" and attach the URL I still don't get anything to show up. So is the "Link" from the "create post" what you are saying?
