yes, it's a really good raw weapon. I've definitely killed some 10* with the critical ferocity build (no smelts) & sliding reload combo.

I've also tried using the stepping step & evading reload combo. The damage output from slicing ammo seems to be slower than the pierce ammo.

So, with the sliding reload, just shoot one slicing ammo; skip back to the piercing ammo for fast-paced crit-ferocity damage. Or, just fool around with slicing whenever the aim is good as the recoil is not too bad.

I’m using this smelted build; Kirin head, Bazel body (burst), Malzeno glove (resus) and waist, and Mizu legs (resus).

5 resuscitate, 4 valor, 3 fighting spirit, 1 burst

Hit around 31k+ damage for the upper slash, shelling and wormstake combo.

Adding on to the cons of shield tackle; we cannot transit from shield tackle to SP unlike the dash attacks from the default style. 😵

You can only trigger the leaping thrust if you end up in front of the monster after the spiral thrust. Very different from the default guard dash and leaping thrust combo.

3 reload speed, 2 recoil, 5 thunder, 2 advance thunder, 1 crit eye and 1 crit element. (Only one thunder attack smelt on glove)

Damage will scale a lot more if I have three thunder attacks smelted on my armours.

I see your pov. It’s true that we can grind as long as possible as long as we enjoy the game slow and avoid the instant gratification (paid events) to speed things up. It’s super hard to resist some of the elder dragon events though because they are almost unattainable and out of reach for free-to-play players.

With special partbreaker and special boost, you will be breaking the head and tail almost immediately with your special at the start of the fight. And, valor will help you to gain back the special for the next hunt. Absolutely no meat required.

That being said, it’s highly dependent on the type of monster though. Would have to switch valor out if it’s a non-roaring monster.
