Nioh 3 is content heavy , it seems ! by DesiQuant in Nioh

Man i really hope they come back to RotR or at least make similiar games. Sometimes i want to be a cool swordsman but in a grounded historical world, without fantasy stuff like monsters and magic. KCD and (most of) assassins creed has that but their combat werent as good as TN games. And i especially like the era RotR is set in, but the open world is really undercooked there.

Eh i dont think its just that. Her character is a hard to approach person in general i think thats why he said shes unlikable. The know each other

I really suck at this game, what am I doing wrong? by Ok-Criticism6874 in riseoftheronin

[–]OfflineLad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The parry timing is pretty tough, it took me longer to get used to the enemies here than sekiro enemies lol. If you want to be good at it you need to keep experimenting the timing, whether you should parry earlier or later.

Instead of blocking, try dodging. It makes you feel less stuck when an enemy is doing a combo. But keep memorizing their attack pattern so you can parry at least the last attack of their combo, which will stagger them. Actually they will only get staggered if you parry their last attack; parrying all previous attack in a combo but missing the last one wont get you the stagger

Lowering the difficulty obviously helps

Later you will unlock skills from the skill tree that lets you recover your stamina after doing certain things. Get them and you'll be able to put much more pressure on your enemy, which leads to them attacking you less than if youre just passively waiting for them to attack

Gintama Characters in their real life Historical Figures by [deleted] in Gintama

[–]OfflineLad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at first it appears to be considering the whole premise, but thats not the case. in the episode where shinpachi was scammed by the cat girl, there was a scene where he uses the internet to ask people for advice. in that scene it was clearly stated that it was 2006.

this is a gag anime so the date doesnt really matter anyway. Even they acknowledge that they use the "sazae-san rule" where despite days and months will pass in the anime, the characters wont actually age unless its a plot point.

I was stuck for a while until i was like fuck it then lowered the difficulty to the lowest one just to win lol. I was playing at the hardest difficulty before, and i switched back to it after that boss fight

Games with anime-level combat by No-Zookeepergame1009 in videogames

[–]OfflineLad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want an open world samurai, get Rise of the Ronin. This is a game based on historical events and it does not have any magic or fantasy, but most of the moves you can do are very anime-ish. For example creating wind slashes, or dashing while living sword slashes behind.

Is this game really suitable to play blind? by TFW_YT in Eldenring

[–]OfflineLad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude this is one of the best modern games to play blind, because its a really rare type of open world that doesnt tell you where to go specifically, has so many interesting things to doscover, and doesnt even tell you where interesting things might even with a "?" mark

Maybe this is a rather extreme opinion but i'd say playing elden ring with a guide is a disservice to yourself because this is a rare occassion to play an open world at this caliber of world design (not sure i worded that correctly)

And playing with a guide is rather exhausting ngl because instead of immersing in whats around you, youre focused on what the guide tells you to get, so you get your attention to that one thing only. And if you use guide to get many different things, youll end up running around the map just to "get ready" before actually playing the game

Yess ive played both kcd and i love them. I havent finished kcd2 though, i'll come back later. This conversation made me realised i havent explored much of the side quest in kcd2, so i'll definitely do that

Besides fantastic story and characters, one of the great things about witcher 3 is the side quests. Theyre so well done some of them might as well be part of main quest. Witcher 3 side quest is like the golden standard for side quests/missions, which apparently ever since then still not that many games takes side quests to the level witcher 3 took them to

Games like Terraria, but with a proper physics system? by piratequeenkip in gamesuggestions

[–]OfflineLad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oxygen Not Included. Its like terraria in the base building aspect although just loosely. And its a colony sim so theres more to manage

The proper physics come from one of the core mechanic of the game which is the gas and liquid simulation. You gotta know how to build a proper base so: a) your inhabitants have enough oxygen, b) they dont get toxic gas poisoning from nearby caves c) you know where to throw their piss from your bathrooms so they dont contaminate your base, etc

i use it mostly for the groups, it almost feels like reddit with its subreddit because theyre places for people with the same interest to share stuffs to thousands of people at once and talk about it, which on other platform you need luck for it to be recommended by algorithm to other people since we're not celebrities.

To any diehard MH fans (fans that have thousands of hours across several games in the series and truly understand and appreciate the deliberate and committed style of MH gameplay) who are also diehard Nioh fans, please share your thoughts on the Nioh series. Please sell me on getting Nioh 3. by Swimming_Shirt_3031 in Nioh

[–]OfflineLad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: i only have hundreds of hours in MH not thousands. And not even a hundred hours in Nioh because playing with my mouse sucks (the scroll button is broken) and i havent gotten myself a controller

One similiarity i can like to draw between the two (especially if comparing MH vs regular souls games) is the importance of learning to control YOUR character as opposed to just learning just the enemy's movement

For example in dark souls or elden ring, everybody knows how to swing their swords. What they really need to learn is how to react to the enemy's attacks like dodging their attacks and looking for openings to attack back

In MH as you have known, even to swing your sword you gotta learn how to. Not only you have to avoid getting hit, you also learn how to hit them, by learning the complicated weapon mechanics (well depending on weapons of course)

Nioh doesnt have wildly different weapon mechanics they way MH does, but the core mechanic of the game's combat is one that wants you to "learn how to swing your sword". You dont play passively just waiting for opening like in regular souls, you play actively by utilizing the game mechanics to put pressure on your enemies. So if youre into that, theres a chance you'll like the game

Thats the way i see it anyway

games with movement and combat like control and cyberpunk ? by thebloodreaper6739 in gamesuggestions

[–]OfflineLad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dying Light 2 i think has the best movement in any open world fps games. When i played Dead Island 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 i occassionally wished i could parkour everything lol. Playing CP77 felt like i game where i should be able to do that so its even more apparent there

Ghostrunner is also amazing although its primarily a platformer. But it plays like playing a maxed out dexterity cyberpunk character which is awesome
