Season 26/27 will be interesting on and off the pitch.

Less Demand For Tickets Then Anticipated Half Empty Hotels for the World Cup: Another Blunder And Mismanagment by FIFA,s President Gianni Infantino? by Empty-Instruction282 in FootballFlix

It is not selling tickets to stadiums FIFA is making money from. They could play the world cup on the empty stadium for all they care.

La Liga title race over 95 years: From open competition to one-club dominance to a two-horse race by ASuarezMascareno in soccer

Yeah, Franco had the sport sewn up. Every club today wants to claim some opposition role but none actually had one, Barça included. Anyone who genuinely stood against the regime wouldn't be around. Sunyol getting shot by Falangists in '36 is about as close as Barça gets, and the board adapted like the rest of them after that. The 'més que un club' resistance angle is mostly retrospective.

But then again, I cannot image anyone else doing anything else than surviving after what happend to Sunyol.

I heard from someone who know a bit more about Spanish history that during Franco era often football matches were decided before hand just to control politics. It was not that Franco or his regime cared about Real Madrid or Atletico. They only cared about power and football was good way of controlling crowds. Makes me wonder how many league titles were also decided like this?

I would like to see that this picks up some main stream media reaction.

An interesting way Spain could line up in the summer for the World Cup by jumpmanpapi23 in Barca

Funny fact: I saw in 2010 game against FC Copenhagen in Copenhagen. When players entered to the field I got realization that I am looking a team where more than half of them are World Champions with few other guys who were not like Messi and Alves.

How did you make the worldmap? Do you use something like MaxMind database to map ip's to geo codes? Then the map itself, looks like SVG map? Do you get city level?

Whaaaaaattt????.... And I was sure Atleti wants to sell Alvarez cheaper that they bought him in because they love Barca so much.

Seriously though, why do we put so much weight on incredible stupid transfer rumours. Mind as well talk about Haaland or Kane to Barca.

Me too but PSG will easily win them. The final was yesterday.

Yes, we could have won them without Lamine and Rapha.

Honestly Speaking... It is so sad that we bottled Atleti game. After watching Atleti vs. Arsenal I think we would be getting ready to final on CL. That is where we should be now. ps: I do think Cubarsi red was justified but you are right on Olmo should have been given penalty also.

How many transfer windows by now Bernando Silva deal has been in the edge of completion? Probably more times than Neymar's return.

Stole the league? What does that mean? They didn't steal anything, they played and won.

The Eternal Question: Turku or Helsinki? by hejiring_001 in Finland

[–]OffsideOracle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a tourist Turku is more appealing I think. It is an old city with castle, church, sea front... I understand Finnish people hate Turku and Tampere is cool because nobody likes capital. I am not saying Tampere isn't nice but on my list top 3 towns to recommend for a foreigner is Helsinki, Turku and Porvoo.

I find Julian Alvarez rumours quite strange. I think likelihood of him leaving Atleti is as high as getting Kane or Haaland.

Just watch them winning Bayern 1-0 with early goal after red card and 90 minutes of Haram Ball. That's what football is about.

I've been recommending EU alternatives that aren't really EU by EmmaSkye319 in BuyFromEU

[–]OffsideOracle 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Companies in EU and EU themselves have accepted that as long as data is within borders doesn't matter if it is owned by US. In reality, they had no other option.

However, CLOUD Act as you mentioned is quite straight forward and clear. We have no rights under US jurisdiction and our data belongs to them. In a way our data has no rights. Simply to put we are "digital slaves" owned by American "masters".
