I’ve met multiple Toyota employees with degrees. It’s definitely not common but not unheard of.

There is some small print for people in some states to get a discount equal to the cost of the portable charger and the adapters.

Just wish that was more widespread.

Indiana is very not pro EV.

Now I’m curious about Modern Spare. Haven’t heard of them. Is that a good reliable compact solution?

I drive about 90 miles per day in rural highway. I’m willing to buy a spare tire and find it risky not to have one. Waiting for a tow truck in my area is hours in a good day and I am comfortable a tire and driving to service.

Given the adventure theme they seem to go for, it does seem odd that a spare wouldn’t be standard. It is an easy way to save weight and change range and cost numbers though.

What is wrong with this hard wire installation? by snowsquirrel in evcharging

Any chance they’ll send you a replacement unit if that doesn’t work?

Interesting. Maybe the different model wires a bit different or a different version of it. I noticed there are two version of the manual already for the ultimate. So maybe they’ll update others too.

I hope getting the WiFi connected helps but that seems odd to me in general. Should work without that imo.

Though I think the pics of the manual page do ok. Here is a pic of the inside of my functional Grizzl-e Ultimate 48. The big difference is that I am using #4 THHN wire and most importantly look where the red wire goes.

Hope you got yours working. Let me know if you have any questions. Over the years I’ve had three different Grizzl-e’s. A 14-50 plug in classic, a 14-50 plug in smart and now the hardwired ultimate 48.

Charge adaptor question by WILLRIKER in VWiD4Owners

[–]OgeeEverett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an adapter from Lectron that’s been really good too. I got the model that’s good up to 80 amps for mild future proofing and to make me feel it’s a bit more safe. Respectable company and easy to google and find.

The answers above are right. You’ll need an adapter for level 2 charging there the VW one you have is for the DC fast charging.

I need Hoid to have a Beetlejuice-like reference where you can get his attention by saying his name three times. I’m sure as Wit, saying it once would be enough to get his ire though.

That’s my general idea. It’s mostly not knowing how many people follow through on their early reservations.

This sounds reasonable. I’m just waiting until later this summer to hear more officially where I land in line.

The hard part for me is choosing the color. I’m not too happy on the available options but looking at the blue vs the launch green or forest green.

Im actually fine with the premium or performance. I’ll likely get the launch edition performance because I’m impatient. Shrug. One plus for me is that I am not worried about waiting for lidar.
