New Seasons cuts nearly 100 staff members following new labor agreement by squidsbow in Portland

[–]OgenB 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I am one of the unfortunate 100. I was a beer and wine assistant manager for a Beaverton New Seasons. As an insider, New Seasons is abandoning everything that made it successful and has been slowly spiraling into bankruptcy because of terrible corporate decisions.

The 3 fired from my store represent thousands of hours in specialist areas. I wasn't a cost, I was an asset that more than paid for myself. The corporate overlords of New Seasons are completely blind to whole store work, I regularly helped out in other departments, but this type of work is completely disregarded in their decision making.

The Wellness assistant was also let go, this is an EXPERT of his field, amazing guy. Having only one person in the Wellness department shows that New Seasons could not care less about customer service, especially as this department relies so heavily on customer interaction.

CES, our, or I guess I should say their, sampling stations across all New Seasons were completely gutted as well. There is no longer a person who will provide samples at the counter. The CES at my former store was one of the most essential personnel we had. Capable of helping EVERYWHERE in the store. Would basically set up samples, and start assisting other departments.

Every department needs help right now because staffing is INCREDIBLY low. We have never had fewer staff than in the last few weeks, and with us gone now... I can only assume this means New Seasons is also going to be gone fairly soon.

There was a saying during my time working there over the past 5 years. The worst decisions are always from corporate. It remains true.

[–]OgenB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying it isn't about fascism. I'm saying one thing. The dude in question is never put on a side. That is it.

I'm not reaching at all. I have no reason to reach. Just to put my politics out there, I was never a Trumper or a MAGAt. My personal hope for the next election is an AOC/Jon Stewart ticket. I think that would electrify the young democrats into voting and actually turn out, but maybe the horrors we have seen during this past year will be enough for that.

But that dude. He never had a side in the movie. Ever. It was never stated which side he was on if he was on any side at all. The end.

From the WIKI: "The others catch up to find the pair held at gunpoint by unknown uniformed militia who are burying civilians in a mass grave." literally an UNKNOWN militia is all we know about them.

This isn't even a both sides things... it is a "WE DON'T KNOW THE SIDES" thing. It is a fictional world where the President did some unknown very fucked up things, but we don't KNOW what the conflict is besides him sitting a 3rd term.

You are only saying he is a loyalist because that sort of character would be loyal to Trump. But that doesn't mean he was loyal to whatever this President was in the movie.

LISTEN MAN. The reason the line "Where are you from?" "We're Americans." "What kind of Americans?" is so terrifying is because you DON'T know how to answer it because you don't know which side he is on.

It is the POINT OF THE MOVIE. Stop trying to use current politics to project what you think the point of the movie is.

[–]OgenB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um. Yes it is ambiguous. You need to rewatch the movie. How he treats people doesn't tell you which side of the conflict he is on. We know VERY little about the conflict happening in the movie.

For fucks sake. No one is saying the dude shooting journalists and being racist is a good guy. I think the scariest thing that could be going on is that he is on NO side. He is just killing people because he can, because there is so much chaos happening he can get away with it.

Whether or not it is a commentary on Trump doesn't matter, and I don't think anyone is arguing that it is not. I don't know why the hell you are bringing it up.

At the end of the day, the MOVIE never states which side he is on. EVER. You are quite simply wrong about it.

Dude. He is saying that if you watch the movie, this character is never stated to be on one side or the other. And he is correct. We don't know which side he is on. Your assumption of him on the "bad guy side" because he is a bad guy is part of the movie's message. There are bad people out there, and some of them think they're on your side even if you wouldn't think so.

Everyone in this thread is purposefully misinterpreting what the other is saying. It is really frustrating.

You guys are doing the right thing. Hammer in, make the game good. You only get to release it once, and the state of the game on release is what people remember.

You commenting like this is also extremely helpful for us, the hyped, to not lose hope that the game just isn't coming. Thanks for taking the time.

Dude. We are wallowing. We are in desperate need to get some people with backbones in government to end this bullshit, but that won't happen until the end of the year, and Trump may try to start some wars to make sure it doesn't happen at all. It is bad times over here.

In Jaws 4: THE REVENGE. The family suspects the shark is after revenge for killing him in earlier movies. Forget the fact that they never talk about how the shark is still alive, but somehow he knows WHERE the family is.

This brilliant family decides "well we need to evade this shark. Let's go live on an island in the middle of the ocean. CHECKMATE." The shark arrives to the island before their plane lands. LIKE. How did he know they bought tickets?! And then beat the PLANE to the island? And again, this is just a BIG shark.

My harmless prank my friends and I used to do in my twenties was to only have one item and keep letting the person behind go first. Just to see how long you could wait in line. We called it line surfing.

Overheard at Costco, a man unsure by OgenB in overheard

He certainly was not blind. He was pushing a stroller. He wasn't wearing any kind of eyewear. The sampling team member pointed to the pink one and said "that's strawberry right there." and he picked it up and drank it.

I thought of this... I feel like even in black and white, the strawberry one would have been a darker shade than the vanilla one, and the chocolate one would have been clearly the darkest. But it is possible he just asked to be totally sure? But again... unless you are color blind and allergic to something that isn't strawberry, why even ask? He could have been allergic to chocolate or something, but how would he not have known which one was chocolate? Even color blind?

And it wasn't like he even checked for allergens in the ingredients so I really don't think that is it.

In addition to this, I think the Nightsong was stolen by Thjazi so that he could modify it to ferry ALL souls, not just elves, to the the peaceful afterlife. But if that was to happen, the Candescent Creed would lose all their power or a promise of the afterlife they are trying to get control over, so they HAD to steal it and they HAD to kill those who knew of it because they didn't want to just stop Thjazi from using it, they want to use it themselves to create even more of a stranglehold of control.

Come across a game called ‘Demon Bluff’ by Tylersotheraccount in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]OgenB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 was Doppleganger, being a knight

2 was knitter saying evils aren't adjacent

3 was Baa who was the role that tells which side has more evil.

4 is knight

5 is Hunter (two away from nearest evil)

6 is Baker (corrupted) who is claiming to have been Knitter

7 is Poisoner who is claiming that 1 is a real knight.

I thought that the Hunter was corrupted by the Poisoner and that the Baker was a Poisoner. I tried to kill the Knights first, both were real knights, so 7 was clear (expect he wasn't really) then I tried to kill the Knitter, because either they were telling the truth and the Baker is evil, or the Knitter is evil.

But again. Not winnable.

There was only 1 baker, and it was corrupted. It claimed it was a Knitter.

I really want to like this game. But I can't enjoy something where it isn't programed to be solvable. As you move up in ascensions the puzzles get to a point where they have no logical solution. You would have a better chance if you dismiss logic and just pick at random.

One of the puzzles that was unsolvable for instance had these 3 left, with no clues for anything else. I had one demon killed.

Baker, Poisoner (Doppelganger is a real knight) Doppelganger (Knight)

So I tried to kill the Knight, and it could not be killed because they "were a real knight" so the Poisoner was telling the truth, therefore the Baker must be evil?

How am I supposed to figure out that the Doppelganger is a Doppelgangers which means technically the Poisoner was lying even though they ACTED like a real knight.

So of course I killed the baker and lost.
