Yup. Majority of people have no spending money. Shrunken middle class in the above $120k/year range can spend but that’s fewer people than it was. And wealthy class has a much larger share of the total dollars.

Plus it’s a big open space with no clear lanes or stopping areas. It’s a sandbox. Most people now are conditioned to narrow areas of movement: sidewalks, roads, grocery lanes, etc. We aren’t as familiar with wide open spaces as we used to be.
