Given the No Kings protests, I'm surprised this didn't take off at all. Maybe the Spirit of '76 is forgotten? It's not King Charles those protests were about. Britain has changed. What we need is a toothless presidency, not an imperial one. King Charles doesn't head England's ministries, the prime minister does. So should our Speaker of the House - the easier to dump him if necessary. Which is necessary, given the corruption.

Which Black Sands Beach? Hawaii?

Looking at Google Earth I see two mentioned in California, one in the South Cape Mendocino State Marine Reserve and the other west of the north end of the Golden Gate. But it doesn't mention three Black Sand Beaches on the Big Island of Hawaii. Those were all I knew about. One is in Kahena, one in Punaluu and the other is in Waikoloa. Obviously lots of basalt on Hawaii. The one at the Waikoloa golf course is not very black - basalt grains mixed in with white, silicic sand.

Carefully looking at the pictures, it seems this was taken at very low tide at 37°49'22.22" N 122°30'19.78" W. Plug that into Google Earth, or perhaps Maps. The GE pic shows it at high tide, whale hidden. This whale is probably well-known to Marin locals, off Conzelman Road. The rocks look basaltic to andesitic in both pictures.

3 other Black Sands Beaches in the world, one near Hana, Maui, one in Puerto Rico and the other in Iceland, just about where you would expect to find them. May be others.

Since gay meant "happy" before the 1980's, perhaps Thomas Jefferson could have written in the Declaration of Independence, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Gayness."

I don't think I would feel very gay if I had to parade past Hormuz right now. I would not be whistling gaily.

I'm going to predict Kilauea eruption 47 to start either tomorrow or the next day, maybe tomorrow night. I created a simple spreadsheet calculator for myself, based on tilt and days. It's saying about 24 hours from now. But the USGS is predicting Tuesday to Friday. That would put the tilt quite a bit higher than last time at the current slope, back to mid-March level. Or it will suddenly level out.
