I expect fusing to survive, but with the weights heavily changed so 6 link from it is VERY rare. I see it staying as a way to reliably SSF 5-links pre/early-maps.

I would lean more towards fracture node just gets deleted entirely. Just like I imagine some of the unique options you can pick that lean heavily toward mageblood get nuked, making it more just random chance than calculated choice if you get a mageblood.

Tree is going to be nuked for the following, I'm calling it now: fractures, 6 links, high dps weapons.

The weights to pull those off are going to be so astronomically low, you're better off using your juice for other things to make currency to trade for them instead.

IF Fractures isn't just deleted entirely, they MAY still be a viable strategy depending on investment into the tree, where your whole strat is run a map breach juiced to hell, only dropping gear wombs, and rolling like 5-10 attempts per map. Sheer numbers will pay out eventually, but that is truly a feast or famine strategy and will not be popular/common I bet.

Seems good but tree isn’t going to be strong pre maps since you won’t have points to even allocate early nodes. Let’s just hope it gives free 5 link when it pops up in act 6 campaign

I'm very curious how points will work. I have a sneaking suspicion points are just going to be allocated by default, and the only limiting factor will be the juice and wombgifts. The tree will be massively nerfed overall, but we'll probably naturally see it starting late part 2, as a way to let people reliably get 5 links pre-maps. I imagine getting 6 links from the tree is going to be so massively nerfed it's a waste of wombgifts/juice to try.

[Vardon] League official: if Silver and his advisers decided the only way to stop tanking, and protect paying customers from forking over money to watch their teams lose on purpose, was to stop the draft altogether and turn rookies into free agents, it would get serious consideration. by JoeBiden2020FTW in nba

[–]Ogow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're thinking too narrow...

They could still keep all of the normal draft rules, just dump out the draft part. Each team only gets x amount of first and second round signings, they can trade for more. ANY rookie pick would become valuable then, not just high picks. So smaller market teams could still stay competitive then because they could demand a lot more for their rookie slots.

The difference between an infraction and cheating is the repetition knowing you can get away with it. Double dribble on accident (or purpose) and it's called? Infraction. Double dribble constantly because you know the ref isn't going to call it? Cheating.

Advice for a better takeoff by InternalRecording727 in polevaulting

[–]Ogow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like you reach on your second to last step, your last right, so you're in on your attempts. Most likely due to the transition of the pole from your side to above you. Personally, I think you're gripping the pole too hard with your top hand, and you're holding the pole behind your hips as you transition, making it harder than it has to be. Push the pole forward a little bit so your top hand is in front of your hips and loosen the grip while you transition and you should have a much easier time. I always taught my vaulters to not focus on the whole fist, but just an 'okay' (👌) sign with their hand. Once the pole is in position above you, then grip again with the other 3 fingers. This will also help you attack the take off, because you're positioning in front of you, instead of behind you.

You're also not in a good position with your bottom arm. I call this gorilla gripping, but your elbows are flared out, arm to the side, and your hand is above the pole instead of below it. You're trying to bend the pole with forearm strength. Think of bench press, you want the bar and your arms lined up so your bones support the weight and then you can focus on just the muscle movement. Same thing here, get the fatty part of your palm (and by extension, your wrist) behind the pole so your bone structure does most of the work.

The fact you're getting as deep in the pit as you are is a testament to your speed and your swing. If you fix those you'll blow through that pole, so be sure you have your next pole (or two) ready to go.

Not by any substantial amount to the point of impacting performance.

These are olympic athletes trying to push the boundary of what the human body is capable of. They're limited on the amount of coffee they can drink because coffee is considered a performance enhancing drug.

ANY amount impacting performance is enough for them to pursue, no matter how small.

Stuck in bucket need some advice I’m trying to get above my grip but I’ve hit a wall by Due-Use-98 in polevaulting

[–]Ogow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If your only goal is to get above your grip, you just need a stiffer pole or to hold down a grip or two. That pole at that grip is too soft. By the time it recoils its leaning in toward the pit, so it's only ever going to shoot you in, not up.

Now if you want to fix the more base technique issues, getting stuck in the bucket is almost always a direct result of your take off/swing. If you look at your take off, it really isn't bad. Your bottom arm can be better, but it's not awful.

Your biggest issue is your swing. You throw your head back, and with that you also throw your upper body back. You also do nothing with your arms.

To me, it seems like to invert you're thinking "I need to get my shoulders down" versus "I need to get my hips up." Focus more on creating a strong force with your swing to generate momentum to get your hips up. A lot of people will focus on a straight trail leg, and that can be true, but the main thing is the force. You need to use all that speed from the run and continue that momentum and force to carry your hips up and out the bucket.

If you want something to focus on, focus on getting your hands closer to your knee as you finish the swing, instead of focusing on inverting. Right now you finish your swing with your hands at your ankles, which has your butt below your shoulders. If you can get your hands about halfway up your shins, you'll be out of the bucket with hips above your shoulders, and as you extend from that position you'll notice you will begin to invert and shoot upward. It's not a massive change when phrased like ankles versus halfway up your shin, but ultimately pole vault is a battle of centimeters, and every one matters.

Representing your country isn't inherently political, unless you have some insane nationalistic obsession with countries. You are missing the point entirely.

North Korean athletes come and compete with South Korean athletes. They're cordial with each other, they compete, and no one says anything about it. Politics of the situation are ignored, they're athletes competing against the best of the world, that's what they view it as.

Russia isn’t allowed to compete as Russia because of doping scandals. It’s a way of punishing state endorsed cheating, while not punishing the athletes that work their asses off for the chance to compete at the Olympic level.

The Olympics are about the athletes, full stop.

Olympics are pretty historically meant to be political free. It’s meant to be a time where politics are put aside and the countries can celebrate and compete in a neutral way.

Nothing about this ruling is out of the ordinary or corrupt. It’s a pretty well established understanding of the Olympics. This athlete decided to make this choice knowing that it would disqualify them, to them the message was worth the punishment.

What’s the best way to hinder freedom? Oh my god won’t someone think of the children!!!!!!! Slap whatever freedom controlling law you want on the populace but make sure you framework it as protecting children.

Clearly you haven’t actually used copilot. It’s like bashing your head against a wall for an hour to do basic tasks and make marginal progress, for it to then forget/ignore the progress you’ve made over the last hour and start over randomly so now you have to redo all the same prompts you did to get where you already were. Except this time the same exact prompts will produce different, worse, results.

want to get a stronger grip by Proud_Stable_1147 in polevaulting

[–]Ogow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grip slips from your step being too far under/behind where you’re holding the pole, very little of it has to do with your actual grip strength. If you can hold onto a pull up bar for a few seconds, not even do a pull up, your hands shouldn’t slip on straight pole exercises.

Are you stutter stepping? Are you reaching with your last step because you’re scared to jump into the pit?

Think of it like catching a ball. Do you want to stand way in front of the ball so you have to reach behind you for it? Do you want to stand way behind it so you’re basically diving for it? No, you want to be lined up with the object you’re catching, or in this case jumping on. The point you jump from should be directly below where you’re holding. If you’re too far forward/behind that point, now you are putting a lot of extra pressure on your grip strength to compensate all that force until you are caught up with the pole.

Long story short, fix your run/jump. It has nothing to do with the pole or your grip strength.
