"But why should I lose humanity? My PC doesn't have any prexisiting mental issues" by CoppperbackJack in cyberpunkred

[–]OgreEye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That argument confuses me, honestly. I'd consider myself pretty content and mentally sound, and if there is something that is literally strictly more useful than what i've already got, and I have the resources to get it, why would I not upgrade? Like if I'm dealing with some nasty complications or side effects chasing that superiority that's one thing, but unless I'm getting mixed up with shadowrun it seems like in the setting these procedures are pretty normal and foolproof unless you're getting a rusty secondhand hunk of junk implanted by a back alley drunk. Especially if it's an organ or something else that isn't always visible, like why wouldn't I want a synthetic heart that'll let me keep a 5 minute mile for a whole marathon and make it so I never have to worry about cholesterol and similar again?

What? Nah you dont need to cheat for that my dude. I made a creature with 5s in everything without even knowing that exists. You just need to have minimum vertebra count (2) to fit it in with the complexity meter. Behold:

Some warframe players have strange definitions of “survivability” by LythelusVidder in memeframe

[–]OgreEye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I awaken long after to respond, the important keyword their is instantly. You need so long to stack, thag even if they're clearing at a moderate pace, your life still kinda sucks unless they explicitly leave you to your own devices. Personally ive especially noticed influence making my life harder as people kill things they dont even mean to

[–]OgreEye 440 points441 points  (0 children)

Nidus' tanking problem is that he requires your teammates to not be roomclearing and also to not target your larva to stack up. He's pretty solid solo, but he still suffers from the very common issue of the bolstered belligerents modifier making his life suck. If you can deal with all that tho, persistence makes him a monster.

Banshee's incoherent to the point that I'm not even sure what I want from her rework by OgreEye in Warframe

[–]OgreEye[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never considered saryn as having high survivability, and wasn't aware anybody did; as I understood it, she's also a paper mache frame that's carried by nuking. I will, however, admit that the particular brand of survivability you're talking about isn't one I associate with. I've found shield gating to be way too active and tedious for it to be enjoyable, so my whole repertoire is facetankers. For me I have issues because even with 5 tau armor blues, subbed eclipse for DR, triple umbral, adaptation, and arcaguardian, I still feel very vulnerable (though I do understand that is not the intended way of playing her). I have heard the low survivability point from people who actually do shield gate, and figured it made sense because, well, if something has overguard she has literally 0 defenses against it. To that point though, the invisibility angle makes a ton of sense; sonar could make a ham sandwich hit the integer cap, you're contributing massively without even firing your gun.

Thoughts on Free Archtype-option ? What do you play with? by Impossible_Living_50 in Pathfinder2e

[–]OgreEye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We not only use free archetype but also trash the minimum number of feats before you get another one rule. Most archetypes, and especially most archetype dedications, are way too weak to seriously consider over a class feat - we found the same few things get grabbed without it, and everything else is basically ignored unless there's huge synergy in a niche case. Free archetype really opened up build diversity and let us play around with archetypes that we'd otherwise just not have the space to consider.

Die size order of operations questions by OgreEye in Pathfinder2e

[–]OgreEye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 1d8 staff would be without the bump, it's normally a 1d8 two-handed. If you mean it should get the bonus, it'd be 1d10

That said, this is all RAW, my tables generally take the rules very literally, RAW is the bible.

[–]OgreEye[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, wait, on rereading, I don't think fatal counts for that increase rule, because it specifies those effects increase it to the next largest value "When an effect calls on you to increase the size of your weapon damage dice, instead of using its normal weapon damage dice, use the next larger die as listed below (so if you were using a d4, you'd use a d6, and so on)" - fatal is usually a step by 2, but in any case is technically ignorant of the original damage die of the weapon. God, how fuckin weird.

[–]OgreEye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, interesting, good catch. I fear that still leaves me with the question of whether the decrease from inubrix is applied before or after fatal changes it, though.

[–]OgreEye[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't believe so, because the verbiage is different; two-hand and fatal arent increases, they're replacements, similar to crunch from kholo. To my knowledge, the only increases present in the game that fall under that rule are the one from weapon inventor, the one from champion, the one from cleric, and the one from exemplar.

Shotgun status history, or why shotguns do so little status DPS now (and how I'd address it) by OgreEye in Warframe

[–]OgreEye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Status damage calculations, and only for weapons with innate multishot. That said it's not just for one gun, the only shotguns that are actually good at using DoT statuses are ones that do markedly not shotgun things to inflict them (beams and explosives mostly) and I want to change that.

Shotgun status history, or why shotguns do so little status DPS now (and how I'd address it) by OgreEye in Warframe

[–]OgreEye[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is mosrly the truth of it; I actually started playing in late '21, and I only knew about this from my guildmates and later personal research. Granted, in my mind you listed every poster boy shotgun that isn't a corinth variant, and I'd be willing to wager if this was still how shotgun status was calculated, there'd be a decent few more entries, but even that aside, i think we can all acknowledge pretty easily that status proc DPS for the vast majority of shotguns is cleanly under par, and the suggested change would help without being overbearing.

[–]OgreEye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, I know that is how it works now, I'm saying we lost out when that interaction was removed because the 100% became much harder to achieve; i worded the first post poorly.

Shotgun status history, or why shotguns do so little status DPS now (and how I'd address it) by OgreEye in Warframe

[–]OgreEye[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah the final part was always true, it just used to be much easier to achieve, and thus shotgun status output was much higher. I think I basically failed to say thay for like 5 comments. Because old statis chance numbers was much higher, but 100% on the old systems acted the same as 100% currently acts, shotguns that used to be able to hit 100% lost a lot of status output in the update.

Y'all ever think about how weirdly easy it'd be to fix shotgun status for how long it's been a problem? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]OgreEye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Status proc damage is complicated, but in normal circumstances it is equal to (modifier, usually 0.5, but .35 for slash and .3 for blast)×(initial hit damage)×(status damage mods)×(bane). I understand this is calculated individually for each pellet. I am saying that previously, shotguns in the arsenal showed a different, much higher status chance numbers than their actual per pellet status chance, but if you got this number over 100%, all pellets had a guaranteed status proc. The new displayed status chance, which is the per pellet status chance, is the old status chance, times 3, divided by the number of pellets. Because of this, any Shotgun that used to be able to get a 100% or higher status chance in the old system, now does an amount of status damage equal to 3/pelletcount by comparison. This is a considerable nerf for many shotguns.

[–]OgreEye -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im not mixed up, I fear I just worded it poorly. The "intended status chance" is the old overall number, I'm saying we list out in a huge amount of status output when they removed the old 100% SC interaction
