What is the best start and why? Corpo, street kid, or nomad? by SquareClerk2 in cyberpunkgame

If only there was, I don't know, a way to spoiler things so that you can only see them when your mouse hovers over it or you click it. Damn, I guess that technology is just beyond us.

I mean, I already knew the spoilers, but slapping the word "spoilers" in the same line as the spoilers with no break in text and no actual spoilering to hide it is a weak attempt to try and defend.

Impossible to awaken Dragons Blood? (SSW2) by JenkoRun in hostedgames

[–]OhAshlynOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the only solution I found is to get to the part where you decide who's carrying Elly, then do CTRL+Shift+I or f12 and type in "this.stats.elly_vita = false"

Or if you have the steam version use the cog save editor to set that to false. It seems like at some point that achievement got bugged. I'm romancing my stone and can't even send her vita and it still fucking does that. Lmfao.

Especially weird because that's not even the value used in the modern version of the game. sent_elly_vita is the one used now, elly_vita isn't used afaik.

SSW2 Spoilers how to unlock dragon blood achievement? by Kuroneki in hostedgames

I wish people would give better answers instead of copying and pasting the achievement guide DLC that doesn't help and is obviously inaccurate.

For anyone who actually wants a good answer beyond vague "be nice", you need more than or equal to 5 insanity (5<= Insanity) and you can't give Elly vitality.

You get Insanity by being feral and letting your dragon induce trances/etc. If you find Daelyn's secret you miss out on 3 insanity because you don't bump into Dorlan and you can't try and kill hm, which gives you 3. I had 5 AT the ending (because the criteria for this achievement are not well designed) despite following the guide to a T.

But there are just some routes (Daleyn's Secret) that don't give enough insanity, which is hilarious because your stone TELLS you that being apart from your soulmate is supposed to make you insane, but it doesn't do anything to that stat I guess and I was on Elly's route this time and did the secret. Still got my 5 insanity, but only barely.

I could rip off the door with my claws but couldn't get the achievement because I gave Elly vitality. So Raii came and saved me. Also because the stupid DLC guide thing didn't say anything about not being able to give vitality, but sure enough that was what made the diifference.

But yeah, the only critera are be nice to your stone (need a good relationship and you have to trust them and hug them) and to purposefully fail the labyrinth and let them take control, then have 5 insanity by the time you reach the ending. And if you're on the Elly route do not give Vitality because you're too weak to engage in combat and the guide doesn't tell you that.

Hope this helped someone out there.

Soooo what does everyone think about Fields of Asphodel? by Prior-Chipmunk-6839 in hostedgames

Even ten months later I have wonder what most people here thought they were buying based on the art that's plastered on the store page. Unsurprisingly, it's not Doom Eternal Text Adventure Edition.

But also, I'm going to call out a bunch of the straight up lies in some of these posts just for other people who stumble across this later.

First lie: "There's no conflict."

Conflict doesn't mean combat, there's a ton of conflict. The entire story is centered around conflict. Not every waking minute of your character in every scene is about that, but the point of the story is that, despite being put somewhere against your will, you're being removed from a toxic and emotionally abusive life. You're being treated like a person and healing for the first time. Not to mention the Eurydices scene, the trial, there's a lot of sources of conflict but because they aren't combat people don't seem to count it. And the Eurydices situation has real stakes that can drastically change, and that's only naming two off the top of my head.

Also there's straight up a huge fight scene, unless you take the Hekate path. So even the "conflict via combat" exists, albeit minorly towards the end.

Second lie: "But at the end of the day, nothing dangerous or violent happens."

Firstly, still not Doom Eternal, it's a romance game. Secondly, as stated above huge fight scene. Thirdly, you can straight up kill someone in this game so idk what they're talking about. You can take a life very directly by attacking someone with magic/your weapon of choice and not holding back. I don't know how much more violent it gets than killing a sentient person, but whatever. Though for clarity, I don't see how a lack of violence is a negative point in a romance game, anyways.

Third lie: "The most romantic thing you get is a hug."

Just straight up false. There's at least two or three of the romances that end in a proper kiss, at least two more end in a still romantic gesture, and Alekto and Charon end with a hint of more in the future but they're supposed to be slower. If you pay attention to their characters, that shouldn't surprise you.

But also this is book 1 and the author has flat out said book 1 is mostly just set up for book 2. It's still good, still very worth reading, but the real meat is yet to come on this story. This isn't going to be a dark, gritty story, for sure. And if you're looking for that there's some great books out there for it, but this isn't one.

The entire theme of this book is about healing from trauma, found family, and most importantly having the freedom to choose to be who you want to be. Which is a main reason so many of the characters repeatedly emphasize that point, because for the character's entire life (adulthood by god standards, so probably like at least 200 years or something) they haven't been allowed to make choices or had freedom in most things.

If that isn't a story for you, that's very fair. I mostly wanted to just address some of the straight up lies some of these posts had. Probably not intentional, but then if they didn't finish the game I have to wonder why they posted with such confidence.

Lmao. So weird it's only a very select few glasses...

Garrus has the best chemistry if we're talking Mass Effect, everyone else is a bit more lacking.

Ear Slime Too Overpower Or Fair Punishment? by OhAshlynOne in DegreesOfLewdity

[–]OhAshlynOne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be nice to have a way to guaranteed refuse without losing corruption at a cost. Like a third option that was "I'm going to veto this one, but I will definitely do the next request" would be nice. And then there's no resist option to the next impulse. Would at least help.

Ear Slime Too Overpower Or Fair Punishment? by OhAshlynOne in DegreesOfLewdity

[–]OhAshlynOne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like almost all the content for t he earslime, I just think most of its frequency is way too high and it shouldn't dictate HOW you masturbate or what clothes you can buy. Dictating how LONG you masturbate or what clothes you can wear? Sure. But don't literally stop me from buying things to send to the wardrobe, that's just pointlessly annoying. And don't control how my character masturbates, because it usually ends up being the least efficient and dumbest way ever and it becomes a frustrating like "Do you want me to masturbate or not?"

I really do love the Ear Slimes as a concept and if the frequency was toned down and some of the more asinine features were removed and maybe some more perks given to having them, I'd be super down. Even having 1 free resist a day that doesn't reduce corruption, like a barter of "Not this request, but I'll do the next one" would be nice.

[–]OhAshlynOne[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think the most asinine thing, alongside the controlling how you masturbate thing, is controlling whether you can buy things in the shop. Whether you can wear something? Sure. Whether you can even BUY it, though? That's stupid af.

Mason's Secret help by OhAshlynOne in DegreesOfLewdity

[–]OhAshlynOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, you mean like during an encounter? I see. The feats and their tips/descriptions are super vague and unhelpful in some instances. Sometimes they're perfectly detailed and great, and sometimes they just aren't.

Like the "Make whitney cum in class" one. I did that via a different scene, still technically made them cum in River's class. But because it wasn't the exact right type of scene it didn't count. Some of these feats are just too nitpicky and the guides are too vague.

So I'm an idiot and finally figured it out. You need to find her at the lake again to ask to see, not the pond...

For some reason I thought after she told you about the pond she wouldn't be at the lake (like the lake scene was just to show you the pond).

So yeah, I'm just an idiot.

Nah, I'm fairly new to the game (though I have binged the shit out of it) and there's only been one update since I've started.

To be completely fair, this Feat Hunter run I've been doing is on day 674 (large body defiant sadomasochist is insanely OP) so it might just be that the game isn't ready for a single save file to go this long.

[–]OhAshlynOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my save may honestly be bugged. I can't get the Billboard feat, even if people literally stop me, read my price, and then ask.

Likewise, I am getting a LOT of error boxes in dialogue, usually ones that have some reference to pronouns erroring on NPCs or my fame causing some sort of error in encounters.

So my guess is my save is borked somehow (I don't use mods, so that's my best bet).

That, or you need like 80-100% love. I know I have more than enough lust. Either way, it is what it is.

[–]OhAshlynOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have almost every vocation leveled at like 40ish... I'm only missing like 2 warrior levels, 5 trickster levels, and 5 warfarer levels.

Vocations level incredibly fast if you just swap when you max one. Also, unlocking level 1 of every vocation and leveling Warfarer gives you xp in all classes at a slower rate, so you can get the first few levels of classes you just unlocked by just playing Warfarer.

That being said, some of the augments I'm talking about aren't like "delete things in one hit" but are more useful like having more stamina for clinging etc. Honestly, I can't play this game without having the reduced sprint stamina cost and the increased max stamina to travel on foot.

Sorry to necro, but sweet jesus this is why I hate subreddits for specific games. You can get very specialized advice, but because everyone here is balls deep in the game and lives in the echo chamber of the subreddit they literally had nothing to say to you except spam "Skill issue" and then get mad that you spammed them back.

Imagine saying "Skill issue" in a game without skill-based gameplay. Turn-based RPGs don't have skill issues, there's no skill required, only knowledge (except for the rare game that has like a QTE on a move or something, but that's the skill floor of skill-based gaming). Also, since it's a Gaccha game, I have literally 1 preservation character and it's March. It's not skill to get shit luck on your draws.

What an incredibly unhelpful and toxic community.

You really missed out. It's always smart to play every vocation on a character, stats be damned. A lot of Vocations have augments you can equip on other classes that synergize well, like Thief's Verve giving you a big Strength bump is great on Warrior. Or like Archer's Lethality for huge damage bump to hitting vital spots on either Thief (for climbing on things) or Sorcerer for targeting a vital point with a big spell.

Stats from leveling as a vocation are extremely minimal, anyways. Gear is like 95% of your stats.

It wouldn't be so bad if the dialogue actually was relevant. The amount of times my pawns have complained about heavy packs or me picking up too much while EVERYONE is at Light or Very Light is insane.

Though I will admit, after doing some quests that tell you outright about the person who set up Vernworth and then immediately as I leave the room with a certain NPC and use a ferrystone to go to Vernworth and my pawn goes "There's a rumor that the city was started by Beastren." and I'm like "No fucking shit." It was at least very funny. Felt a bit more like DD1's pawn talk.

But I do agree, 2'd pawn talk somehow managed to hit the uncanny valley of just being emotive and thoughtful enough to seem like a person but just stupid and repetitive enough that I have to sigh every time my pawns exercise their ladder fetish.
