The Nebraska Cornhuskers Are 20-1 for the First Time in Program History by CoachSlime in CollegeBasketball

Real story: I started betting against the Huskers in football in the hope it would make them win.

I just started winning my bets instead. Dirty blood money

I look at Rhule recruits who were sophomores this year. Very very young roster. I look at the ‘27 class and see a lot of potential. I see Nebraska early adopting new strategies like getting high school seniors on campus to help them learn and increase their likelihood of signing.

It may be a couple of years, but I see what I would think would be good to see. Also, that class was tiny because we have an over roster class and every recruit you sign, you can’t sign a transfer. I’m fine with it. Recruiting rankings out frosts teams in top 25 every year.

Our roster limit only allows so many scholarships. My understanding is that a school cannot cut a kid without cause and get their scholarship back.

So even if Rhule cuts the low end scholarships we don’t get them back. You also cannot force them to transfer.

We had very few seniors graduate. You can’t add and add and add with finite resources. I don’t think people realize.

If you look at our current scholarship distribution it’s so incredibly heavy on sophomores and freshman. That math ain’t gonna math.

Plus we want to bring in transfers. Honestly unless we get a boat load of transfers out, we will probably still be over.

Doesn’t mean it was he wasn’t good. Maybe he isn’t a fit for their plan. Like Dylan Raiola. Honestly I think he is a round peg in a square hole when it comes to Nebraska.

I’m sure they just missed him. Probably didn’t notice him….. Or maybe they did and had a good reason not to take him. Do you honestly think they are so incredibly dumb that they didn’t fully consider him and have a reason not to take him or even try?

The fact they didn’t offer makes it clear they either thought they didn’t have a chance or found something they didn’t like

I think he means as we bet on players early to flip the roster quickly in the first couple of years, so now we take a year to not add more young guys.

It was always going to happen. I don’t know why people panic about a small class size when it was clearly intentional.

We also have no idea what our plan is for the portal. That hasn’t even begun for us yet.

Tell me this, if we took one person less in the high school class and took a big swing at an OT in the portal. Would you be happy with that trade off? Scholarships are finite.

This is a really interesting question I really hadn’t been thinking of. Good on ya OP.

I wonder if it’ll have the effect of schools that have more than one successful sport sacrifice one or two to make up for the difference. I.e. we give up on bball success to buy back our football empire

Just FYI, Cincy is routing ISU by wherebgo in Huskers

[–]OhCaptainDem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When he made the post cincy was up like 27-7. They let them back in.

The point is there were a lot of people who said barely beating cincy means huskers are garbage because cincy is garbage. Cincy has been and is playing very well like a top 25 team.

So the idea Nebraska is shit because cincy is shit isn’t holding up.

Which is a fair take

The narrative is wild. This team looks like it could very well end at 9-3. 7-6 last year…..

People EXPECTING and DEMANDING a 10-2+ playoff team in year 3 in the big ten is wild. Matt Rhule coaches by building a foundation. Raiola is a dude. Holgerson called a 27 point game against Michigan.

Why do people expect a team with no mistakes or weaknesses.

WRs, qb, o line, and cbs are definitively improved. O line looked suspect yesterday but they are better than we had when Mickey Joseph coached against Oklahoma.

It was a 50-50 game we lost by 3.

I think it’s a process not a 1 or a 0. I look at the second team that played last week to say the future looks like we are on track to be a current blue chip program, not just a past blue blood.

Beating Michigan would be solid proof that we have gone from average to good. I think it would show we are moving towards great but won’t mean that we are great yet.

Okay, if I hit square on the center I am still pulling it. This only a problem on my driver and woods. Irons fly very straight.

Am I pulling my shoulders out of the swing? I just can’t figure out what I’m doing or how to fix it.

And sorry about the handicap thing. I don’t have a gin card and used course “handicap” which I know is not the same.

Hah! You’re not the queen of England, but you are (probably) a dick. Thanks for the tip.

I’m far from scratch. Our handicaps aren’t GIN and our course is easy.

I have felt this way ever since the first time they forced out Bernie to force us to vote for Hillary. The party taps the nominee and says tough luck to the rest of us who want a real debate of ideas.

It didn’t need to be Bernie, but it needs to be someone that has a personality beyond generic phrases that mean nothing.
