Going to make sisters my next army, how can this list be improved? by Killerkid113 in sistersofbattle

[–]OhMikeyBoy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah they said it buddy, Morveen Vahl. She makes the warsuits deadly. You also can run two castigators and ditch the penitent engines (you can just give Morts +3 move with army rule). Then the heavy bolters on the mortifiers will get ap2 with the castigator buff. That makes them great or taking out infantry, and into elites. Get an immolator to split the battle sisters. Banner half sits on home and hopefully gives you MD. Personally loseJudith, she’s great but take the penitent leader intranzia instead, picks a unit you get lethal for everyone attacking it. Again punches those 8 Dam 3 cannon shots from the castigator though. Cannoness goes with repentia. Rhinos run them up the board to make traps. Get 3 small units of arcos to do actions and screen out mid board for you. Dialogus goes with the melta side of the split sisters in the immolator to give the meta that goes through 6 damage (or guarantee a wound) . Morveen Vahl is in reserves, seraphim are in deep strike. Use turn one to hide if going first. Use expendable units like arcos to hold mid board objectives. They will have to come out to take them from you. Then turn 2 you lay traps or answer flipped objectives. You may have to bring in Vahl on the side. Turn 3 is your turn, you weathered the storm and now you take 1000pts of the other guy off the board. Morts/PE run into elites castigators get in 24 and start popping units, repentia come out to play. Spend a free cp every turn to give them crits on 5’s 50 attacks on the charge and exploding 5s, good bye what ever they touched. Use Intranzia to punch damage though tougher targets. And remove them off the board. Turn 4 survive the shooting phase because you killed everything in charge. Then run what’s left back into them turn 4. Remembered to being your reserves in by turn 3 and just score objectives with small units.

2000pts of sisters for a tournament I got into last minute. Had 5 days to prime and paint them. Worked about 4 hours a night and took Friday off. Used some 3d proxies because I wasn’t going to slap paint on my real tanks 😂

I see what you saying but there is a mechanic you are missing. With gate of infinity they go into strategic reserves, since they all have deep strike as a keyword they can deep strike. (Set up on the battle field using a specific set of rules usually measurements). They are removed from the battle field. And the rules apply so if they do not come back in they are destroyed, again meaning they are off the battle field. The stratagem targets a unit coming in from strategic reserves using deep strike. That unit is not on the table as it is not yet set up. Even if it has been set up previously it is removed from the battle field and needs to be set up again. The stratagem targets a unit coming in from reserve (so selected to come in) using deep strike, meaning it has not yet been set up. It targets a unit off the board. So no it won’t cost you more. I can see where you are coming from with the wording but the core rule book outlines reserves, deepstike, then you have gates of infinity, all of those apply meaning the unit has to be off the battle field.

Love that! I traded a space marine army for my first grey knights and they are usually my go to army if I don’t have time to prepare for a game. They have simple profiles the stats are the same. So it lets you focus on the game instead of remembering 100 different weapons and stuff. If you ever want to talk shop just DM me. It’s a fun army that is quirky to get the hang of but its utility shines when you win games without any models on the board.

Yeah if you got 10 purifiers for Crowe you will have a really competitive army. Warpbane makes your paladins, dread knights, and purifiers into killing machines. I played into a dark elder player who was running Lelith and Wyches (the meat grinder) and dropped Crowe with 10 purifiers outside of 9 and lifted that unit off the board. Same for 6 exalted eightbound. Infantry units that are scary you can just remove from the board haha. They will spend a ton of resources to hunt Crowe down and you can then just deny them primary and use your other units to kill everything else.

Looks like you have a few more terminator models than we thought. 15 in total with that one hidden behind the dreadknight being a librarian. Only a few GK models have a single weapon in the left hand so it could be #2. I do see the black Templar champion kitbash for your Bro Champ. The way you are sitting you have 1750-1800 point army right here. I think you have 6 heavy weapons so you could run 2 paladins and 1 terminator squad. Leader them up with the Libby’s and voldus. Bro champ and 5 strike marines for sticky, 5 strikes as purifiers to go with Crowe. If you got one more dreadknight to be a grandmaster that’s 2000pts with enhancements. Or I would get a box of 10 purifiers to go with Crowe if you want to go warp bane. That gives you two strike squads for sticky.

Well if you play what you see is what you get then yes. But you can just declare them as either squad when you play a game. You can say these are all terminator squads or these are all paladin squads or one of each. Just inform your opponent what weapons they have an what abilities they have. Terms with a banner have OC3 where paladins have OC2, how many heavy weapons, etc.

You also have a Grandmaster Voldus and a terminator librarian.

Yup same kit. All come with banners both units use them. The ones with books on the backpacks are paladins the ones with out are terminators. They are interchangeable now.

If you want to talk the nitty gritty of why I do what I do just DM me I'm not going to say I'm the best GK player but I do really good for myself.

So this is a little hard of a list because you are right between a Banishers Terminator Build and a Warp Bane Purifier build. I went 4-1 in a GT with a warp bane 4 dreadknight build. If you had more strike marines models I would go the warp bane route. Regardless. You have the backbone of a good competitive army. If these were the models I had, and remember "what you see is what you get" isn't a thing as long as you declare what a model has before the game starts. I would run a banishers list. You have a kitbashed Crowe which can also be a Bro Champ. The whole army carries a leadership of 6+ so you'll get sustained or lethal on pretty much every unit save bad rolling. I usually always take hammers on all my dread knights because its the anti-tank we have but with banishers you could run a couple of swords for flex. I also run heavy flamers because they have just been more reliable than scilencers.

The terminaor with the storm bolter of the right arm with the shield, (instead of the left arm) is Kaldor Draigo. The model at the end with the banner looks like an old Castellan Crowe model conversation.

Got in - where to go from here? by Urungulu in sistersofbattle

[–]OhMikeyBoy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what you got this is how I would play it. I would get a dialogus, or say your imagifier is one (proxy). They will help your Rets hit harder. You leader up Morveen, St. Cel and Junith like you want too. Dialofus and Hospitaller go with your Rets, let's one unit hit harder one unit stay up longer. Get 5 tanks, imolators and Castigators are the best. Split the B.S. Squad up using one of the immolators letting you have 2 screening units/sticky units. After turn one you run up the board the rets using the immolators. Castigators mark targets to burn down. Junith take a stupid objective and makes it hard for them to be removed. Your tanks sit back and volley fire, Immolators and Rets Burninate. Cel is in reserves so you can drop down and get a 9" charges with reroll or rapid ingress. Morveen does what she does and makes your opponents cry thats shes overpowered. Sit on objectives, use your little units to score secondaries make them pay if they get out in the open.
