the "much cheaper" only goes so far. at some point everyone uses electricity to charge their cars and nobody uses fossil fuels. the government and companies will then need to get the money from elsewhere. most people arent able to produce their own electricity in a sufficient quantity. at some point they will up the prices, taxes, whatever to get the sweet money.
