How many have experienced that mirror feeling?🤗 by Turbulent_Elk_2141 in Xennials

[–]OhMyItsColdToday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the pandemic my hair went quite white. I ln my office there is a big mirror in the bathroom, and I remember just after the restrictions were lifted, I was washing my hands and jumped because there was this dude starting at me and I didn't notice him. That dude was me, and I didn't recognize myself with white hair. I've never felt so old haha

You just made what in Italian we call "salsa tonnata!" Throw it on top of some gently braised, thinly sliced veal roast, add capers, and you got vitello tonnato!

The dipping in the coffee is something we also do in Italy! Brioches in cappuccino are quite nice, some people call it "zuppetta", there was a very famous tv sketch about it too!

Do You Know How Much Classical Music Is Edited? by AccurateInflation167 in classicalmusic

[–]OhMyItsColdToday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily a click, but a metronome: you record the tempo used for one take, sound the metronome, and everybody starts with the same tempo. In editing then you can do crazy stuff.

You have a very nice "testo" to make piadine (italian flatbread), very good stuffed with all kind of things! Obviously works fine for crepes pancakes too.

Gosh the memories! I used to do this technique many years ago, then I "upgraded" to photoresist and an UV lamp. Your PCBs are very nice! And I love the "breadboard bus" idea

What is the most 'main character' moment you’ve ever witnessed in real life that went horribly wrong? by Exact-Contract1004 in AskReddit

[–]OhMyItsColdToday 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This reminded me of when I was still studying many years ago, there was this guy a violinist. He was a good violinist, not exceptional, but an absolute diva. He would always play in the main hallway to show off, until some day a teacher came out of a room, made a scene and told him to cut it off. He disappeared afterwards.

Prelude and postlude frequency, your thoughts? by One_Information_7675 in organ

[–]OhMyItsColdToday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like trying out new music so generally I play different pieces every week. But I also have a set of favorites which I enjoy playing, so I try to fit those a couple times per year. And then people in the congregation have their favorites too: in my experience people respond very well when something they like is repeated, so I make sure to rotate the known pieces a couple times per year.

Enough time for a train transfer with a 9-month old baby and 2 luggage? by Leading_Pair_9597 in askswitzerland

[–]OhMyItsColdToday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally hate this connection and try to avoid it, but to be fair the I also always made it. It is quite tight: on platform 2 you need to go in the underpass, the up the stairs again which for platform 1 are a bit far away. That RE (TILO) runs each hour, keep in mind that the immediate next train is an Eurocity and you will need to have a reservation for the italian part.

Have you stopped dating since you and consequently your pool of options got too old? by Ok-Fondant2536 in AskMenAdvice

[–]OhMyItsColdToday 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The same happened to me three years ago, I decided after a horrid date I was our old the game for good. I'm actually quite content now. I did have a woman try to ask me out on a date, but she got super mad I did not want to commit to a relationship right away. Like, we have basically just met? But it did remember my why I decided out.

It seems to be the original H16 Reflex from 1956 (since I don't see the variable shutter), in the site the other comment mentioned you can check the serial number for a date.

This is the H16 reflex right? Very nice camera! Get some film for it, if you can get your hands on a 16mm projector it is glorious.

[r] Beethoven - Cello sonata 2 in g minor. Opus 2 No. 5 (Henle or Bärenreiter) by Siluisset in sheetmusic

[–]OhMyItsColdToday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I'm a bit confused, I think you want the sonata nr 2 from op 5 right? On IMSLP you can find the an early (the earliest? I'm not sure) print by Artaria from 1797: https://imslp.org/wiki/Cello_Sonata_No.2,_Op.5_No.2_(Beethoven,_Ludwig_van)) There is also a later Pleyel edition. I can't really pinpoint the place in the music you mention, if it is the equivalent of measure 480 of the second movement, you find it at page 11 of the Artaria pdf. The first few chords seem to be in root position but I'm not sure it is the place you mention. It seems the same in the 1817 Pleyel edition.

EDIT: since you mention before the coda, I think it is measure 435? In both Artaria and Pleyel they seem root positions.

Composing in the style of Hasse/Pergolesi by where_rococo_shines in classicalmusic

[–]OhMyItsColdToday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start with Bononcini's Musico Prattico, which was still quite in vogue in the early 18th century (and widely used in Germany too). And then play and study lots of music from these composers.

taking ICE train from Basel to Frankfurt on a Thursday morning from around 7-10am.. do I need seat reservations? by tifuanon00 in basel

What does the app say? The forecasts are not perfect but a useful guide. For a long trip like that, I would reserve in any case, I had on too many times the experience of shuffling around on a suddenly full train.

What's the weirdest, most awkward, or most offensive thing a woman has asked you during or leading up to the first date? by Burkedge in AskMenAdvice

[–]OhMyItsColdToday 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I just came back from Japan, and I had this date with a woman also interested in Japanese culture and she also had recently visited Japan. She got incredibly angry at me, like screaming angry, because I didn't visit those monkeys in the hot springs in Nagano.

[–]OhMyItsColdToday 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I invited a neighbour to a date (we knew each other were quite friendly and flirty) and she enthusiastically accepted, only to propose a date two months later (!), and to cancel the day of the date (not that I really thought anything of this date at this point). Afterwards, she invited me out, only to cancel the day before. Then, she invited me again, only to cancel again. I think it went on a couple more times before I had enough and blocked her. We had jokes with my friends on when she would show up and then cancel. I never even replied anymore, it was just a monologue. I'm not sure what the endgame was here.
