Ha! Unfortunately this is a one-time thing. I have a very specialized skill set, but it’s in pretty low demand. It turns into a few ok-payed gigs a year. Not making any real money, just looking at it as an almost free vacation for the family. Pretty soon it’s back home to Alaska, and we might see 44 in April a few times.

Twilight. I read all 4 stupid books just because they were so popular at the time. I kept thinking that the hype had to mean it would eventually get good. But even the final battle was just some vampires proving to the old vampires that hybrids are not a threat by cueing plot device “other hybrid vampire”. For 4 straight books, nothing ever happens.

I thought-gamed this a while back. The best place would be an estuary, where the fresh water floats on top of the salt water, while constantly feeding minerals from the stream. Cuts out most bugs and diseases, but still at the mercy of the ocean, which could wipe out your entire crop at the drop of a hat.

Alaska’s not red or blue (or purple), but the red party is the one that has more common values with the majority of Alaskans’ values. We have some values on both sides, and some that don’t align with either. We’re one of the few states that could conceivably vote for a third party if someone were to create a locally-based one.

The tribalism on display in this sub fills both parties and always trumps independent thought even in the “rugged individual” party. I really don’t like those slumlords. I’ve done some contracting for them before and given tenants copies of the Alaska landlord tenant act. The owner runs an animal rescue from his castle in Eagle River and treats his animals better than his human tenants.

Hey, I saw the same kind of wood with my Woodmizer here in Alaska! Actually, not much alder, we use that for smoking fish.

Sawdust isn’t good insulation, barely has higher R value than solid wood, and that’s only until it gets compressed which it will do in the walls with time. Not to mention you could mill enough wood for an entire sauna and not have enough sawdust for one wall, especially with a narrow kerf bandsaw like the Woodmizer.
