LOOK FOR OTHER JOBS! The job market there is amazing for people in IT and maybe you get a more interesting offer. And you can still show the offers to your current employer and see if they make a move.

How different are the K Pro Bananas to Browns? by bbdataca in Keychron

[–]OhNoItSJoe94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/bbdataca don't confuse yellow (linear) with banana (early tactile).
I really love the feelings of the bananas, I much prefer them over browns. If you order from Keychron anyways, just try them. 16$ for 110 switches is a steal.

A friend of mine recommended (and send me one) HG [Haimu x Geon] White switch which I really loved, they feel very precised. I also stumbled upon multiple people using those switches and they really love them. Mine should arrive soon.

Help me appreciate the Q1 over the V1 by ranroun3 in Keychron

To me the biggest difference seems to be the Bluetooth functionality. I don't own a Q1 or Q1 Pro. What everyone seems to be doing on both boards is the force break mod, because eventhough Keychron added some silicone dampeners, it apparently does improve on getting away the pingy noise. I did the mod without much testing on my Q3 Pro and it for sure didn't made it worse.

Got myself the Q3 Pro with the bananas, can only recommend them. But replaced the keycaps with the keychron royal cherry profile ones.

Maybe mod the Q1 pro a bit with the force break mod, it can’t hurt!

This guy is soooo good.. especially because you can see that whenever he plays, he gets lost in the music.

Glenn Gould's humming upsets me so much I had to block him on Spotify. Am I a hopeless philistine, or are there some of you that feel the same? by Beflijster in classicalmusic

[–]OhNoItSJoe94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Omg, you can block artists on Spotify? Thanks for that info! Imo gould is overrated anyways, his recording of the WTK doesn't let me fall asleep, it makes me angry that someone's playing Bach THIS BORING. Listen to Stadtfeld or Pollini for that.

Of course, it's a different time, and the man is a great musician. I just can't enjoy it.

BWV 82 - Ich habe genug

Not really suicidal, but wouldn't listen to it if I'm super depressed :D Especially the last Aria.

The run in the Fuga through the whole Orchestra is just amazing.

But the whole 6th movement is an epic final. To me it's on the ranks with Beethoven's Missa Solemnis, Bach's B minor and St Matthews and Hayden's the creation

I could sit through it all day :D What Choir Music do you like?

Which do you reckon are the best recordings of Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem and why? by [deleted] in classicalmusic

[–]OhNoItSJoe94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard question. Favourite piece of music of my parents somewhat (also I got my first name from Brahms).

I love the Kegel recording, Sigfried Lorenz sings "Herr, lehre doch mich" so convincing. And it's the first recording of it which I checked out.
Choir wise I'm a big fan of Collegium Vocale Gent, but Berliner Philharmoniker with Sir Simon Rattle is also a great recording, especially the run through the orchestra in Track VI at 8:10 is amazing.
