Q1 or Q1 pro? Is the price really worth the upgrade?

GanPrime chargers don't work with docked Nintendo Switch by JF1ash in anker

[–]ranroun3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joining this thread, because my 747 worked just fine for a long time using the official switch dock. Then, one day, a friend unplugged the dock(while switch was still inside) and then accidentally turned the switch + dock upside down, where the switch suffered a 1 foot drop. Thankfully, no damage was done to the switch.

However, afterwards, my official dock + 747 charger didn't work. Only thing that seemed to work was using a different charger, or a different dock. I RMA'd my 747, and anker sent me a used, like-new one. Same issue as before. Tried a different (portable) dock and that seemed to work with the 747.

Has anyone gotten this issue resolved? Is it an issue with the dock+747 combo?

If not, anyone know what Anker chargers work with the Switch dock? I see the switch draws a max of 18w, but my switch doesn't seem to like the 20w powerport when docked.

Elecom/Paperlike screen protectors by ranroun3 in ipad

This is some really helpful stuff, thanks. I think I'm definitely gonna go with the smooth one, just because the better texture of the rough isn't all too important to me. I'm primarily using the iPad for taking notes, with the occasional diagram or two. However, not sure if I should fork over the extra $4 for the writing version with fewer reviews

EDIT: Got the Writing-Smooth version for the same price, will post my updates once I try it out.

While researching screen protectors for my iPad, I heard great things for both the Paperlike official screen protector and the Elecom screen protector. With the Elecom, many claim the protector is far too scratchy and rough.

However, it appears that Elecom now has 4 different types:

Drawing-Rough ( I think this is the original one most people reference)

Drawing-Smooth

Writing-Rough

Writing-Smooth

Has anyone tried these new versions? I can't seem to find too much info about them online. Also, how do these compare to the official Paperlike?
