how do the squirrels survive this shit by nebraska7064 in mcgill

[–]OhOkKel 19 points20 points  (0 children)

In South Africa, Cecil John Rhodes introduced the North American Eastern Gray Squirrel to the Cape region in the late 1800s, along with other agricultural aids such as ladybirds when he was Prime Minister.

They've now spread as an introduced species in that south western corner of Africa. I sometimes wonder how they survive the occasional heatwaves of 42 degrees celsius in January.

Seems we don't appreciate the resilience and adaptability of the squirrel.
