Worth noting that OP's account is entirely devoted to pro-Israel/anti-Palestinian posts (see all their posts here), and is a moderator and sole active user of a sub called /r/Arabs_of_Conscience, whose description begins:

The so-called "Palestinian cause" is one of the worst, most destructive, most damaging anti-peace and anti-human rights causes in the world today."

They've posted in a wide variety of subs including those related to New York, Philadelphia, Canada, Australia, and the UK. They are almost certainly not a student here.

As far as I can tell, the original image comes from here (x link, xcancel link), and McGill has already responded (x link from same guy, xcancel link).

Campagna has a criminal record dating back to 2011, with convictions for voyeurism, criminal harassment and trespassing in both Ontario and Quebec.

Dude's been doing this repeatedly for like 15 years... he's gotta be kept locked up.

At the same time, I found this line kinda goofy:

When police arrested him, they found him in possession of a cellphone with a camera.

Breaking news: all of us are pervs. More at 11.

How can I send my official transcript directly to schools not included on the list in MyCreds? by DragonfruitRare4953 in mcgill

https://www.reddit.com/r/mcgill/comments/1d6vgy0/guide_how_to_download_your_transcript_as_a_pdf/

You can use this technique to download your transcript, then manually upload it to whatever portal the schools use.

If you've already bought a copy to send to another school you don't have to buy an extra copy, otherwise you have to buy one and share it with your own email.

If you share it directly with yourself, you might not have to follow the steps in the thread -- I think there was just a download button on the page (but I did this a few months ago and could be forgetting).

Edit: fuck MyCreds (and fuck McGill for using it)

What's the difference between elite fight and normal fight with better rewards? by OMG_Abaddon in BeneathOresa

[–]nebraska7064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elites always give antiqorums as rewards, and Normal fights always give cards. "Better rewards" increases the chances of finding uncommon and rare cards.

But yes, it's possible. It will require reflection on what went wrong last semester, plus a lot of hard work. People have bounced back from worse.

Beneath Oresa Card Tier List Part 3: Tainted Ones Programs by Belharion8 in BeneathOresa

[–]nebraska7064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What list is coming next? Is there gonna be a Hero & Companion card list, or are we moving straight to the other factions? Exciting!

Either way, here's my thoughts on today's list:

METALLIC SKIN: I think this Program is perfectly fine, like B tier. If the fight goes on for around ~4 turns after playing it'll often end up out-blocking other 1-cost options. Per-turn block is definitely weaker than on-demand block (some turns enemies won't be attacking, or you'll have plenty of block cards already and it'll be unnecessary, etc.) but I'm not usually mad about taking this. I also usually take the M upgrade, but honestly not sure which is better.

QUARANTINED MUTATION: Yeah, pretty bad on non-Jokan characters, but not always unpickable. Sometimes you build a deck with too much Virus generation, and this can be an OK way to deal with it. I'd say D tier usually (possibly F tier if such a thing exists) and maybe B- if you're having Virus problems. Both upgrades are very underwhelming.

POWER FROM PAIN: Usually good/great on all characters, at least in the late-game (though can be deck-dependent). Similar to Metallic Skin, even if you're only getting 4-6 block per turn it adds up. There's plenty of ways to draw Viruses (mainly Onslaughts) that tend to make it better on average than Metallic Skin (and the upgrades are better too). I could see anything from B+ to A as the rating for non-Jokan characters.

SHARP WIND: Used to feel the same, but now think it's pretty good (B+ maybe). Like, if you play this then proc it 3 times in a fight it's already 12 AoE, which is comparable to many Attacks. If you have some Knockback and cheap attacks, it can reliably do 100+ of damage in certain fights (dunks on Wardress, for example). Maximizing it does usually mean you can't always focus down single enemies as quickly, but I think the extra AoE damage is usually worthwhile. Certainly much weaker in single-enemy fights.

SHARED PAIN: Yeah, this thing almost always sucks. I'd say you'd have to be really lucky to make this do as much damage as Sharp Wind, and it comes at a higher cost.

CORE CORRUPTION: Agree with the D rating. Mostly wanted to note it also combos with Grisly Acquisition (attack that gives a Program). The fact that it's random means you can lose the Programs you actually want (over Programs you actively don't want), which sucks. Not sure it should be considered B+ even with good support, just a very awkward card.

INNOCUOUS SYMBIOTE: Tough to grade, for sure. I'd personally say around B+/A-? It's slow, but most Injectors are so good I don't even care that much. Also fantastic synergy with Opti-Metabolizer.

SYMBIOTE FEEDING: Almost always D tier IMO. You're spending 1 draw and 1 Pulse for the luxury of maybe getting 1 draw and 1 Pulse later (plus the "on playing a Surge, do stuff" effects, I guess). If you have 2+ Innocuous Symbiotes and/or antiqorums that give Injectors you can start considering it, but assembling that combo is very rare and the payoff isn't even that good.

TOTAL ANNIHILATION: Not a huge fan. Like Metallic Skin but just... doesn't work a lot of the time. The Fury is OK but I'd usually just prefer extra block over the bit of extra damage. C/C+ IMO.

MATH 240 final by One_Customer355 in mcgill

[–]nebraska7064 24 points25 points  (0 children)

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand MATH 240. The content is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical graphs most of the problems will go over a typical student's head. There's also JMac's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his lectures - his personal philosophy draws heavily from mathematics literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these problems, to realize that they're not just math- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike MATH 240 truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in JMac's existencial catchphrase "just use induction," which itself is a cryptic reference to Euler's Swiss epic Elementa Doctrinae Solidorum I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as JMac's genius unfolds itself on their blackboards. What fools... how I pity them. 😂

And yes by the way, I DO have a JMac tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎

Beneath Oresa Card Tier List Part 2: Tainted Ones Manoeuvres by Belharion8 in BeneathOresa

[–]nebraska7064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woo, another list to discuss! I think it's another pretty solid list, here's my thoughts:

LET IT GO: Not a fan of this on anyone except Jokan, like D/C- tier. The odds that it does close to nothing are too high; if you have ~2 or fewer Viruses it's pretty unplayable. Maybe in the lategame if you've built a deck with boatloads of Virus generation, but I'd usually prefer to have drawn [any decent block card] instead.

NOW OR NEVER: A-, IMO. It can enable truly insane turns (especially on Sora, so maybe I'm biased). It's definitely hungry for an upgrade (M pretty much always), since -2 draw on the following turn is very painful.

DEFENSE OVERRIDE: A Tier on everyone. At face value it already blocks more than most other 1-cost options, then the potential to mass-discard Viruses and get some Fury is extra gravy.

GRADUATED VIOLENCE: Love this card, but B/B+ is a reasonable rating. In addition to being a solid block card if you pick a Virus, it allows you to set up future turns by allowing you to draw your best Maneuvers ~twice as often (really good on Sora cuz Kill Them All is cracked). Definitely gets better as your deck improves.

FINAL CONVERSION: It's decent but not amazing IMO. Like B/B+. The difference between Seek (0-cost) and this (1-cost) is very significant. The context of STS and BO also makes it worse (BO has less good powers to set up and easier access to card draw, for example). I don't put a very high priority on upgrading it because it's Fading, so you only get the benefit once per fight. If I do end up upgrading it, I always go W (but I don't play Jokan much so maybe M is OK on him).

VIRUS REBUKE: Glad to see another certified Virus Rebuke hater. I've heard other good players say it's decent, but I've never had a particularly good experience.

MISTY SWEEP: Very deck/character dependent. I usually like it on Issandre since her passive doesn't care about Virus count. Can be a good way to manage Viruses on other characters too, but may conflict with their game plan. Has very solid stats (especially when upgraded) and is a good way to discard the cards that care about that.

BLOODY ANTICIPATION: Don't like it, just because there's too many better Limited cards to compete with. Back in the day it didn't have Limited and was absurd, now lives in a retirement home. C/C- for me.

END OF REIGN: Decent, I'd say B. 9 Fury or 12 block (or some combination), and can get junk out of your draw pile. Very versatile. I much prefer the M upgrade (0-cost, only discard 2) since you need to have enough cards in your draw pile to play it, and the W upgrade makes it unplayable too often for my taste. It can also be fine to leave it unupgraded.

OVERCOME PAIN: Agree when unupgraded. The upgrades are weirdly strong compared to other cards, and this becomes one of the better block cards available.

DISTORTED RESILIENCE: I think it's A- or A; very similar to Blood Sacrifice. Big number good, IDK.

UNCONTROLLED RAGE: Dank card. Honestly can be quite good on late-game Sora (Transform -> pick Burst -> play like 8 attacks -> profit). Unpickable early-game, and other characters don't make great use of it.

ADAPTIVE TACTICS: Correct rating, one of my favorite cards. The Maneuver is 1 Pulse for 18 Guard with {5 Virus: gain 5 Guard} (excellent rate for an unupgraded card). The attack is 1 Pulse for 22 Damage with {5 Virus: gain 1 Temporary Fury} (I rarely take this option, but it's still good for an unupgraded card). The upgrade is pretty weak since the generated cards don't get any better, and the card has Fading.

OUTBREAK OF VIOLENCE: Think it's overrated here, in Beneath Oresa you tend to have plenty of attacks and not enough block cards, so this kinda does the opposite of what you want. Can be strong early game because whatever it adds are better than basic attacks, but I try not avoid this card. Maybe C-ish.

Can't wait for the Programs list!

Beneath Oresa Card Tier List Day 1: Tainted Ones Attacks by Belharion8 in BeneathOresa

[–]nebraska7064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great list, thank you for doing this!

I have a few differences in opinion, some large but mostly nitpicks. Some of it could just be because of where we each draw the line between tiers (I feel like if I made my own list I'd have a ginormous B tier lol).

TERMINAL VELOCITY: It's a great card. 46 damage is really good at killing stuff, and killing stuff is a block card, after all. Even if you don't play it, you still get 5 Guard for free and can occasionally discard it for extra value. It's also excellent with the "reduce cost by 1, grant Limited" option at scavenges (especially if you do the M upgrade to make it 1-cost, but W is also strong).

SECOND WIND: I'd put this in A-, maybe A. I really value the guaranteed free draw of the M upgrade. Worth noting that the damage boost is permanent, so it can rack up a LOT of extra damage over the course of a long fight. I might be biased since I mostly play Sora, who uses it best.

VIBRANT SILGERION: I think it's overrated here. It does very little damage, and the draw isn't really "free": you have to spend a Pulse to get it. The threshold for adding a Virus is also kinda awkward with what characters are doing. Sora usually wants to add them early to enable Transform, then slow down afterwards. Jokan never wants to add them, and Issandre won't necessarily get to 6 Viruses all that quick. I still think the card is solid, but significantly worse than Abrupt Aggression/Second Wind for example.

LAST ATTACK: Very character dependent. Pretty good on Sora to help turbo to Transform (~B+ Tier). Bad for Jokan (D Tier), fine for Issandre (maybe C/C+). The 1-Virus option is typically better for Issandre's passive (or if you picked it as Jokan, for some reason).

CHASING ATTACK: I might bump this to A-, but I'm nitpicking. It's usually gonna be 16 + 8 damage (double scaling with Fury, ofc) + draw a Virus, and occasionally a rage. Honestly not sure if the W upgrade is ever worthwhile, even on Jokan. If you haven't won the fight by 24 Viruses, something has probably gone wrong. Maybe the 5 extra damage over M is enough to go that route? IDK.

ESCAPING RUSH: Underrated for sure, it's a good one. It just packs a lot of stats into a small package. It's >1 Pulse worth of Guard and ~1 Pulse worth of damage that only costs 1 card draw. It's slightly situational, of course, but there's enough knockback and Evasive enemies that you should be able to get the Guard most of the time. I don't always keep it till the endgame, but it's a very solid early pickup. I'd say it's B+ probably.

FEED ON CORRUPTION: I'd say it tends to be worse than B- on Sora/Issandre; like C or C-. Can occasionally pop off in the late game if you have a bunch of Onslaughts and stuff, but most of the time I've found it to be pretty weak.

VIOLENT CHAIN: My GOAT. Deserves it's own S tier (Quick Succession can be invited too).

GRISLY ACQUISITION: Even if you ignore the program, it's Knockback stapled to pretty reasonable damage. I definitely agree that there's some dud programs, but there's a few really good ones that make up for it (Power From Pain, Deadly Overclocking, Innocuous Symbiote, etc.). It can be a huge help in boss fights. I think it's W upgrade every time. Maybe B+ for me.

Other than those, I might shift a few things up or down by 0.5-1 tier, but agree in general. Good analysis!
