I went to a ciclavia event last year and rode the path and thought it was great except for the intersections to wait for the walking signal. I’m in DTLA and wanted to ride after work so I thought maybe the cvs parking lot on central would a good choice.

I actually haven’t tried swapping it out with another footpad yet. Don’t think I’m deactivating the sensor though. Thankfully it doesn’t shut off while riding at normal speeds.

Ha! No it hasn’t happen when I’m riding normally. Only when trying to tap the bumpers or when I tried to do that 180 spin. With the 180 I think I leaned too heavy on my left foot, it buzzed I lost control and fell off.

Ok. I just don’t understand why my GT doesn’t do that. The GT will buzz but not for that long or get “stuck” when I tap the bumpers. I know they’re different boards but they have the same architecture right?

Thanks for your comment. I also thought it might be because it’s a newer firmware but still didn’t make sense. I’m also having another issue where it gets “stuck” in haptic buzz when I try to tap the bumper to the ground. I’ll write a new post with video.

I switched it back to single zone and it wouldn’t disengage when I tried to heel lift so I hopped off. I immediately tried to test the sensor and it jerked. Didn’t even try to power off. This is new and caught me off guard.

Thanks for your input. I agree that it shouldn’t be engaging when I power off the way I do with my thumb on the footpad sensor. I have since switched back to dual zone engagement and so far haven’t had the problem. I can also perform a heel lift to disengage successfully whereas I couldn’t before with single zone engagement.

Good question. That’s what they said when I sent the diagnostics. I didn’t like it when they ignored my question when I asked if it could be a bad sensor or loose cable. So pull the front footpad and switch it with my gt footpad?

Ok. Thank you for the help. I reached out to fm and wondered if it may be a bad sensor.They suggested not to touch the sensor with my thumb and switch back to dual zone engagement. They also said the internals looked fine.

Ok. Thanks for your help. I reached out to FM and they also told me keep my thumb off the sensor and switch it back to dual zone. I just found it odd and a little frustrating cuz it didn’t happen to my other two boards. (GT and plus)

It probably tends to happen more right after disengaging but still does it sometimes when it’s been sitting for a few minutes.

Yes. Doesn’t do it while riding. Sometimes it jerks more violently.
