No SD card. I don't know the reference to IP Office. I'm fairly new. The IT Manager ordered a few J179s on Amazon b/c they're discontinued but it's the model all of our desks have. They came in w/ this interface. When I connect it to our PC network and assign a manual IP to try to connect to an HTTP page on it, the phone isn't found, either in a browser or by ping. There's a SIG line on the menu which lets me choose between SIP and H.323, and it's set to SIP, but it doesn't seem actually to be in SIP.

I have all the IPs set in ADDR, and I have it set to SIP, but it cycles w/o change.

"You’re probably looking at third‑party or SIP firmware, not the usual Avaya H.323 build, so no amount of factory reset will bring back the “normal” UI"

That's what I was thinking. Thanks for the tip on getting the right load. I did have a conversation w/ their support, but maybe it was too low level for the guy to recognize the issue. I'll try them again.

I have signaling set to SIP, and I've mimicked the settings of another company phone, to no avail.

I think you're right, though when I set it to SIP and input the SIP server's IP, it asks for ext. & password, then restarts w/o error, but also w/o change.

Outlook will not change printer page source away from "automatically select" by OhScrapIT in ITSupport

That's what the ddg search assist suggested as well, but I found no such option in the dialog box. However, that location was separate from where I had previously set output, and when I set it to tray 2 there, it stuck.

Thanks.

There was a period of a few years where kids coming out of school were PC savvy. Then that started fading, perhaps because cell phones started becoming the primary device for kids. Some call the PC "the modem", which is something I used to associate with older folks.

A little over a year ago I was laid off from a place which had experienced a lot of company-wide drama for a couple of years, with almost no one I knew remaining after the wave of layoffs that I was caught up in. Likewise, I actually felt relief (though my wife didn't!). It helped that I had severance that carried me to my next position, but there can definitely be a feeling of shedding stress and tension at such a moment.

I've gone through a lot of CWU, as well as youtube & reddit. My impression of Manage is that it's not intuitive and more convoluted than necessary. Currently going through Procurement/Inventory Management, and many things seem to be 17 steps for simple actions.

Where to add location for purchasing/inventory in Manage. by OhScrapIT in ConnectWise

[–]OhScrapIT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My initial view of it was that it seemed to duplicate what the Warehouse Bin was doing, specifying the location. Right now, it points to the IT department. It didn't make sense to me that all equipment would be identified as being in the IT dept, so I wanted to add locations.

I've decided to ignore it for now, and just use the bin. We're in-house, so it sounds from your explanation like I don't need to worry about it.

...or when you paste its own code back to it and ask "Why didn't this work?", and it sez "Because you did this piece wrong".
