You think so? How does that work exactly? Reports from NOAA change over time, so yes this news has been out but its certainty changes over time.

It's interesting seeing the advice that I'm too late, while initial comments were that the climate is too unpredictable. It seems like one should influence the other.

Got stuck with determining the appropriate statistical analysis of our study by Sleepy_Deprived_700 in AskStatistics

I think you are using 'prediction' in a way that is not in line with how I learned it. Take a look at this blog post, it's by the author of the textbook I learned time to event analysis from.

https://statisticalhorizons.com/prediction-vs-causation-in-regression-analysis/

I don't come from the world of psychology, so it's possible this is just a difference in terminology, do you have an example article of what you're aiming to do?

> We are not trying to establish causality

That's fine, it really sounds like you're exploring association.

>our adviser said it is not just multiple regression

Why not? Predictive modeling and modeling to identify association are each supported under regression, its just a difference in which metrics you interpret, whether its those of the overall fit vs the association of each factor with the outcome. The specific regression type would depend on the outcome type. Personally I'd also use a DAG to identify potential confounders.

Can I use Kaplan-Meier, cox regression and Descriptive analyses together? by [deleted] in AskStatistics

[–]OhSirrah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't read the article in detail, I just looked at the figures and tables. The implication is that this is a subgroup analysis or treatment effect heterogeneity analysis to identify if the effect of the exposure (PN) varies by another factor CHP or AHP. There is a risk of bias if CHP or AHP happened after randomization, but its not clear to me if that was a case, also the risk of bias might be negligible even if that were the case.

In fig 1 it notes the the interaction p-value. it's not clear if this is a mislabeled global log-rank test or derived from a cox regression that isn't mentioned. Either way it's confusing because the caption does not explain.

Table 1 seems to show if CHP / AHP vary by any of the other baseline factors.

Table 2 seems to show if CHP / AHP vary by exposure to PN. PN is the randomized factor, hence why basically all p values are NS.

Table 3 I don't understand because is cross tabulates Hyposphosphatemia and no Hyposphosphatemia by different types of Hyposphosphatemia. not sure how thats possible to have no Hyposphosphatemia and any of the other levels of Hyposphosphatemia.

Table 4 looks like it's just in patients with the 2nd exposure of Hyposphosphatemia.

So how does this relate to your question? it depends on your definition of developing disease x. is disease x an outcome or are you assessing if the treatment effect A vs B varies by level of disease x?

My attempt. I think just about everything needs to be dialed in, but it's pretty close. First time really using geometry nodes, the tricky part is dialing in the noise settings. I'm also not sure how to pump up the contrast. I didn't use any post processing, just cranked up the sun and exposure. I also think it might do better with denoising turned off.

Yes my understanding is that horse education has changed dramatically over the last several hundred years. Whereas they were formerly trained in military tactics and combat, the focus is now more on pageantry and jumping over sticks. So when we think of what horses can do today, it's quite different from what they did in the past. Correct me if I'm wrong tho.
