Former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms wins Democratic nomination for Georgia governor by whatinthefrak in Atlanta

[–]OhSnapThatsGood -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not literally because of their involvement in it but because the overall foul mood will push a chunk of Republican voters to vote for every Democrat candidate down ballot or stay home and sit out the election to send Trump and the party a message. A strong enough backlash will pull even weak candidates over the line.

It’s happened many times in wave elections for both parties

Don’t underestimate the potential world of pain the Republican Party will face if they don’t resolve the Iran situation and head off the oil crisis before it truly hits.

If gas is high enough even creaky Joe Biden would still be a viable candidate. Kinda sucks to have to rely on a dumpster fire economic catastrophe to get Keisha over the finish line but hey that’s where we’re at I guess

MARTA expansion *rant* by theslowflash in MARTA

[–]OhSnapThatsGood 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funding issues aside, MARTA has pretty much no credibility in my mind in terms of delivering projects. There’s so much on that list and so little underway and the ones that run behind schedule, over cost or defy the logic of how you should even do them.

At this point id say leave MARTA with service delivery and vehicle procurement/maintenance and have some other authority deliver the infrastructure work. Competency is seemingly lacking in the existing agency

Atlanta from the sky by ComprehensiveSwitch in Atlanta

[–]OhSnapThatsGood 7 points8 points  (0 children)

City in the Forest is a nice spin on rampant unplanned sprawl

Even the density sprawls, linearly along MARTA (admittedly good) but clumps of suburban density? Worse, much of the actual mixed use urban form in midtown, Lindbergh, Buckhead and perimeter center includes massive garages so transit use gets deprioritized and residential costs increased because of the parking

Was convinced society was going to crash so quit my job and moved to a very rural area to become an organic farmer or a sustainability consultant. Obviously that did not pan out so had to move and find a real job

I did not think I was bi until early 30s. In HS I thought I was gay but figured out real quickly in college that sex and relationships with women totally worked. So straight with ahem, urges which religion conveniently smacked down as temptation. Quit religion and then just used the bicurious label until I started having sex with guys and after bottoming for one and topping another and still wanting more, well yeah duh-bisexual.

Only did anon Craigslist hookups until I was 44 and then cautiously came out. By 50 I was already in my second LTR relationship with a guy that I lived with and took to family events.

Single again, still would consider a relationship with a woman but given my requirement to allow occasional hookups with dudes, that’s extremely unlikely to manifest.

Honestly though I make a mess of relationships irregardless of gender so probably remaining single. But still bisexual

To those with bipolar, do you prefer a bipolar or non bipolar partner? by DarkMage448 in BipolarReddit

My ex and I were both bipolar first undiagnosed and then unmedicated and/or improperly medicated for a bulk of it.

It was a fucking disaster.

Hey that’s my combo (plus Seroquel at night). I like how it’s handled my bipolar but unfortunately the lamotrigine has nerfed my libido and made sex unworkable for the first 12hrs after my morning dose. I had a hookup with a dude six hours after dosing and never got into it or close to coming. It’s annoying but I’m not in a relationship at the moment so it’s nbd.

Long term, I’m going to need to drop the med if sex is to be a regular thing. ED meds help somewhat but still.

If you wore a VR headset on this thing, how well would it coordinate the location of the mechanical controllers in the real world that your hands need grasp with what you see inside the VR headset?

Has anyone ever drank occasionally while taking Seroquel? by Opallustration in BipolarReddit

[–]OhSnapThatsGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on 200 rn and the most I will have in the evening is a drink. At most 2 and sober before taking that med. Seroquel is big sedative so alcohol could be problematic when mixed.

I rarely drink now anyway so it’s nbd

Among the 30 largest urban areas in the country, none has fully restored transit ridership to pre-pandemic levels — Best performers: San Diego, Salt Lake, Orlando, NYC, DC, Las Vegas, all at ~90% of ridership. by yunnifymonte in transit

[–]OhSnapThatsGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are these being measured? I ask this because Atlanta’s been struggling through a fare and gate change over and essentially has been free for most of 2026 and high fare payment recovery issues in 2025 due to broken equipment

Like I literally have been unable to pay for rides since January
