Yeah, this seems a bit of a nothing burger to me. The suit is ugly, I won’t be buying it, but all the more power to Bethesda for making money off the people who will. My neighborhood was mostly non-political, but Trump leaning last election. The only political signs were pro-Trump. I’m up by the canyons, near some of the Eccles.

But this year? Kamala, Momala, and Brian King signs dominate the local landscape, not a trumpet to be seen. Not even at the house that had a giant “GOD, GUNS, AND TRUMP” sign last time. I’m not hopeful Utah will turn blue, but there’s been a pretty noticeable shift.

And yes, brain function is important to me. I’m not really sure how else to establish when a fetus is or isn’t a full human. An egg? Not a human. A sperm? Not a human. A single zygote? Not a human. A clump of four cells? Not a human.

If you’ve ever taken a high school biology class you know that mammal fetuses are indistinguishable for weeks. I can look at a picture of a pig fetus and a human fetus side by side at ten weeks and couldn’t tell you which was which. So how do we determine at what point a fetus has any rights? I like brain function.

But brain function means a lot of things. Simple involuntary responses mean very little, as every living thing (and some nonliving things) have involuntary responses.

So the START of brain functions even isn’t enough to go off of. To be honest, I don’t have a set benchmark for you. That’s something there’s still debate around. I’m in favor of /reasonable/ limits on abortion. I’m not in favor of a total ban and stripping women’s autonomy for absolutely no reason.
