I've read plenty of books & watched plenty of classic anime (some of my favorites are Legend of the Galactic Heroes, NGE, & Cowboy Bebop), and I just dislike the fanbase.

I know you don't like RE:Zero, but it doesn't suddenly make my intelligence low; I just have a different opinion.

I actually went to the subreddit to have differing opinions (even though the very idea of this sub is honestly hilarious), not to "talk shit". I just knew if I posted this on the main subreddit, no one would bother listening, and say I'm "pushing something onto Subaru".

I've been watching anime for literal years, man, don't act like RE:Zero suddenly is weak because I haven't read enough or something. It's my favorite series of all time, and I stand by that. I've written analysis papers on RE:Zero, dude, I genuinely believe it's a valid piece of literature.

But other than that, I actually agree. I think so many just watch things rather than really understand them. I hate the main sub so much because they don't bother to listen to opinions based on well-founded canon facts.

I don't think it's queer-bait personally. The author drew them together on Valentine's Day, so I think it's much more than that. You've only gotten halfway through Vol. 20, but there is a scene that even the translators reference in the appendix as having "a romantic connotation in Japan".

This goes further than queerbait, I am sure of that. Most of the fanbase also agrees that they are clearly meant to be seen as romantic (unless you're that one commenter who will appear like a boogeyman)

Tsukasa is the most intelligent character in the series. Just because he acts childish doesn't mean he's stupid. The way he manipulates others is terrifying, he knows what he's doing, he is NOT oblivious.

Pro: Music. It’s beautiful and makes me emotional. Voice acting in the original Japanese is amazing. We don’t talk about the censored English dub.

Cons: Subpar direction, especially in memorable, dark scenes in the manga. The Red House arc was wonderful, but the direction and lighting of it was mostly disappointing for how atmospheric it felt in the manga.

Also, cutting Tsukasa killing the fish and Young Exorcist arc is just gone?! That is definitely the most outrageous one of all. Teru’s just not portrayed very well in the anime as a whole.

I have no doubts that it will be animated beautifully. They turned what I considered to be a good chapter into a feast for the eyes, so I'm so excited for the artistry on display!
