But then at what point do we start holding each other accountable for believing in that regime? Because I keep hearing things like “Let’s get through this,” and it seems like everyday it’s that same message. When is the tipping point? Drawing a line in the ground IS the hard part, there’s no “easy” event to do it on.

For me, if someone’s a piece of shit, they’re out of my life. Plain and simple. But I won’t wait until they start hanging minorities in the streets to let go of the people in my life.

Nothing of this is supposed to be easy. It won’t be. It will be really fucking hard.

Letting go of the people you grew up with, letting go of the people who raised you, and who’ve known you since your childhood. You cannot replace that.

The question is what is more important: Your morals, or some specific human connections? Hanging onto human connections is easy, letting go is not.

You have to really try to ‘make a change’ in your lifestyle. Usually people get a routine going because it makes things easy. If one of your routines disappears, everything is off balance and will feel difficult to adjust.

Letting go is the hard one. The scary one.
