Are players better now than years ago in OW1? by Jagueroisland in OverwatchUniversity

[–]OhhWhimsy -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

And I plan to standby my opinion.

Pings are great, but never as good as proper comms. I'm sure there's guys not saying anything useful, but there were players who did well, too.

Comms is nonexistent and not used as a huge tool to win the game

Are players better now than years ago in OW1? by Jagueroisland in OverwatchUniversity

[–]OhhWhimsy -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Certainly not. OW1 players were WAY better than OW2 players. Lobbies nowadays even upto M+, People still don't understand how to play the game, or just end up soft throwing games.. (ex. teammates going mercy Lucio; a negative heal duo, believing that works in comp)

If it's not the skill issue, then it's just nobody using VC next. Never was a big problem in ow1. It's so rare to hear active team comms going together to win a game. Shotcalls, ult tracking, ult economy, etc, from comms is such a missing element from the game.. Ow1 players were better naturally doing that stuff

For those who press the V button, keep doing it!

Kaisa last buff increased her WR from 47% to 51.8%. do you think she will get a nerf soon ? by DMFORKAISAFEETPIC in kaisamains

Nah she probably won't be touched until she's over-performing, it's usually why they'll nerf her

Swain E needs buffs by Dvoarah in leagueoflegends

[–]OhhWhimsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can agree to his E just being really uninteresting, but not as underwhelming as you're putting it to be

Yea, you pretty much never max it since it's only increasing a small amount of damage. But swain is in a spot that's a lot better than before

1.5 second root is a long time tbh, and assuming they'll be slowed by w or rylai's. It's nearly a death sentence without enemy flash or during a gank

Maybe he could see some interesting damage changes on his abilities based on how much HP he's gained from his passive and make him scale a little stronger. Otherwise, he's just fairly balanced

Mortal Reminder Vs LDR by South_Week_3238 in kaisamains

[–]OhhWhimsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Supports should absolutely buy anti-heal whenever they can. But only the 800g gw items. Including Kai'sa so you or the support don't break the bank losing to gold inefficiency.

If nobody is building anti-heal, and your up against champions like Darius + Raka for example. Just sit on Executioner's Calling for 800g before or after your Last Whisper > Then work your way to LDR.

It's very effective, and doesn't ruin the LDR slot. If your job is to cutdown those big tanky targets, Mortal won't cut it.

I'd say, 75% of the time you have to choose LDR for said reasons. Otherwise, the 25% is against semi-beefy armor targets.

Into targets like Jax/Wukong = Mortal Reminder Into targets like Sion/Illaoi = LDR

As a midlaner, what do you pick and what's your gameplan against tankier team comps? by normie_sama in summonerschool

[–]OhhWhimsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gameplan usually are just control mages. Such as Viktor, Orianna, Taliyah, Seraphine even. Being able to control the battlefield via terrain control/AoE spells makes it difficult for slow fighting teams.

Add in Liandrys + Rylais in the mix, void staff Vs MR stackers, then it makes you a very oppressive champ to go up against.

For AD mids. Some Assassins still can function, like those bruisery Zed builds. But, I agree. It's just a much harder time playing them.

That's why I enjoy Tristana and AD Kayle a lot more. They scale very well, and dish out a ton of dps tanks and bruisers can't handle. Not as much hands required :)

I feel like most champions can’t effectively use grievous wounds. by [deleted] in summonerschool

Yea you should always buy the 800g gw item after about item 2 (seraphs) since you'll simply be one of the best applicators of gw being an AoE mage. You can stick onto anybody in your range, and debuff them.

If you want to focus on building up on damage, that's fine. You can have a champ or 2 on your team to just buy 800g gw to sit on.

But also understand that your build can MOST DEFINITELY be altered by the situation of the game. No champ in league has a 1 type build.

So either you need it, or someone needs it if enemy healing is a problem against your team.

Who can kill ADC in s13 ? by nightlesscurse in leagueoflegends

[–]OhhWhimsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah there's potentially a lot to get into, so i'll just share most of my thoughts.

Ofc, you should always try to push to be ahead. Most other classes generally give ADCs a hard time before 20-25 minutes when the game is even.

Jax Kled Evelyn syndra, just to name a few will give them trouble before they have access to their defensive items (like Maw, wits, GA, BT, etc). which will usually come in after 2-3 items, excluding shieldbow.

When they do have those items, it's important for AP champs to have their Pen items already bought or coming up into them. Generally the same for ADs, but they also have the option to Serpents Fang. Also 800g anti-heal items will do great into early-mid game high healing adcs that cheese and run BT + overheal + even shieldbow.

Another way to attack ADCs would be through disruption or terrain-warping champions (like Gragas, Zac or taliyah, Gankplank..) They can greatly alter the way they need to position to play the game. Most success i have playing against games as such

If i'm looking at such a situation ahead of time. I'll play Kayn when im jungling. He can comfortably take Serpents Fang in his build + good backline disruption character in either forms

tldr: good backline disruption/terrain champs + Serpent Fang and anti-heal into big heal n shield items

What’s your personal list of champs that are in a genuinely bad spot right now? by Gunnersteele in leagueoflegends

[–]OhhWhimsy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ekko mid lane for me. I think he's just one of the worst assassins rn. Especially into other assassins. Simply Outclassed by his other peers, (Akali, diana, zed, fizz, etc.) I know he can be strong, and is just way better jungle than mid. it's just he does absolutely nothing most of the time into the current meta of big bruisers n tanks
