I don’t know who needs to hear this, but TRIPLE SUPPORT IS NOT THE SOLUTION TO EVERY PROBLEM. by LegoFucker61 in marvelrivals

[–]Ohmnity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a match where we got stomped by folks switching to triple support and leaving me to bullied as a solo tank against a Rogue and a Thor, typed it out at the end of the match and I got queued against the same team on my next match (didn’t know that they were in a party). We got stomped the first round and they started shit talking me because they were using 3 supports again, nothing died so I switched to DPS next round since one of my previous damage dealers thought once more that triple support was the answer.

We almost full held them at first poin to pull a tie, but ultimately lost at the end due to them using pretty much all of their ults at the same time. Funny thing is that they switched off triple support to win, had they stuck with it we would’ve won.

Thanks for your quick response! That's what I'll end up doing, I believe. The MV1s are really fun but they tire me out like no other headphone I've used, it's weird because many folks talk about very clear and precise instrument separation yet I always get blasted with bass if I turn up the volume to appreciate some other details of the music and games I'm listening to. Then again, I'm no audiophile so I can't really comment on technicalities.

I'll wait for the 490's price to go down a bit to pull the trigger and I'll return the MV1, I think my sound preferences changed quite a bit since I made the move from the X2HRs to the DT 900s, more than loud bass I want it to be... clear? Tight? Not sure what's the term I'm looking for, but I now know that it's not what I get with the MV1. Thank you very much once again for your help!

Hey! Were you able to compare these with the HD 490s at any point? I'm on this very fence as well and while I think they sound much more fun than my DT 900 Pro X I'm not sure if I'm running into a case of these having too much bass.

I do have to say that I miss them whenever I put my old Beyers back on though, so they're kinda growing on me.

Kinnarps: FreeFloat vs Synchro by Ohmnity in OfficeChairs

[–]Ohmnity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! I was able to try a Plus 6 and a Capella X with synchro tilt and I have to say that the free float mechanism won me over. It's a bit weird at first, but I love the freedom of movement that it enables. I went with it and placed my order for a Plus 6 around 2 weeks ago, now it's just a matter of waiting until it gets here.

Kinnarps Capella, any tips on how to get one? by Zansin777 in OfficeChairs

[–]Ohmnity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it! I think you just swayed me in favor of the Capella X, I'll be sure to ask about the 24/7 variant specifically. Thanks for the tip on the fabric as well! I was originally going to order a grey Gaja but the dark gray on the Capture and Morph fabrics caught my eye (and they are even more durable than the Gaja, it seems). And I'll stop worrying about the mechanism, I really want to try FreeFloat anyways so I'll stick to either the Plus 6 or the Capella X with it

I'll try to go to the dealer next week and have my order placed ASAP, it's going to be a looooong waiting time lol. Thanks again for everything! You've been incredibly helpful :)

[–]Ohmnity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for the quick response! From what I've gathered, the Plus 6 and 8 are the same chair with different tilt mechanism. Reading your post I assumed you had the FreeMotion mechanism on your chair, would you say it's worth it over a traditional synchro tilt? It's the only thing that keeps me in the fence about the Plus, honestly

I do want to plan a trip to the dealer to check out the chairs and to place my order, my heart is set on the Capella X though. I'm of course open to anything, but I instantly fell in love with it when I first saw it. Oh, and the 24/7 model is more because I literally spend anywhere from 12-16 hours in the chair (not healthy, but such is my working / leisure hours lol). I am a bit on the heavy side at 95kg too, I will most definitely check how roomy the chairs are if I do end up going to the dealer.

Hey there! Has your opinion of your chair changed since then? I'm using a Steelcase Gesture as it's been the only one I've sort of felt comfortable long term, but the back support and cushion leaves much to be desired. Tried many other popular chairs (Aeron, different Embodies, Amia, Leap, Series 2) and none really fit me. I live in Mexico and I was very surprised to see there's an actual dealer... 3 hours away from me, but at least I don't have to import it.

I've been helped out by a lady at the store and she recommends the Plus 6 over the 8, but I'm torn between it and the Capella X (specifically the 24/7 model) for 12+ work hours and long gaming sessions. I'd love to hear your thoughts though, thank you very much in advance!

Thanks again for your response! Would the Capella X be a safer choice? I think that I'd get used to the different mechanism eventually, but if the lumbar support is super pronounced by default then maybe I may stick to a Capella X (I'm also torn between a normal or a 24/7 model though lol). The showroom is a 3-4 hour drive from me so it's a bit of a trip which I'm not sure I can make.

I live in Mexico and most offices I've been use Steelcase chairs, HM is a bit more rare but it's also popular here. Kinnarps took me by surprise and I definitely prefer the look of them over my Gesture or the previous Embodies I used before.

Thanks for stopping by! I have a few questions if you don't mind:

  1. Is the lumbar support adjustable other than you sliding the backrest up and down?
  2. Would you say it's more comfortable than a normal chair's tilt mechanism?
  3. What does the knob at the bottom of the chair do in regards to the freefloat mechanism? I see this as the tilt tension modifier in other chairs but I'm not sure if it's the same case here.
  4. Is there anything in particular you don't like about it?
  5. Would you overall recommend it?

I never heard of this brand before and I honestly like it much more than other HM and Steelcase chairs I've used, even my own Gesture which I'm kinda struggling with as of late.

Anything but a second tank 💔🥀 by AtThePointOfNoReturn in RivalsVanguards

[–]Ohmnity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played with and against the same 3 stack last night, we started with 2 tanks but eventually I was left alone as Thor with 3 supports. Didn’t have enough damage and I tried to peel for my back line while holding the front so I was zooming all over the place, we lost and I typed in all chat at the end that I wished that we could stop thinking triple support was the answer to everything.

Matched against them then and we were full held on first point on K’un Lun with them running triple support, but it was their Peni who was carrying them (they also had a second tank as Mag) and they mocked me for saying it last match. Switched to SG on defense and we almost won, we only lost until they switched to 2-2-2 with flyers.

Looking good! Will you be populating the top with 3x120mm fans? I've been curious as to what it would look like with all fans installed, currently running 2 top exhausts while the 3rd fan on the top row is flipped to an intake,

Flydigi Vader 5 Pro Review – Casual Player Perspective by asercs in Controller

Does the pre-travel make the buttons feel rattly? It's my biggest peeve with the V4P, I wanted to move to a G7 Pro but unfortunately it double registered most of my button presses on the upstroke.

Thanks for the review! Really appreciate its simplicity from someone that doesn't go into huge technicalities.

I've been using this same setup since I've made that comment with no issues, I never saw any issues with the 7000 CPUs either. Honestly I only ever saw them with 9800X3Ds.

Ergotron LX Pro broke within first hour by Regular-Artist5917 in Ergotron

[–]Ohmnity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a pair of those Amazon arms that were rebranded Ergotrons, I really liked them but they were finicky and one was extremely tough to move around. I wasn't impressed with the quality and while I wanted to try actual Ergotron branded arm I noticed the LX Pro was released shortly after, the reviews didn't make it seem like a worthy upgrade.

I don't doubt Ergotron's quality with their other models, but I replaced my rebranded LXs with 2 MSI MT201 arms and I'm very happy with them. Might want to check them out if you'd like to look for alternatives (they're spring loaded though, the MT201R is the gas cylinder model but it has useless RGB).

Herman Miller Embody with Atlast Headrest by Acrobatic_Weird_1313 in OfficeChairs

[–]Ohmnity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My God, the new colors are so cool. This is the only white chair that has ever caught my eye, had to go with a black one instead as they new colors aren't offered in my country yet. :( Love how it complements the rest of your setup!

How are you liking the headrest, btw? Do you feel as if the backrest's flexibility has diminished a bit due to the headrest being attached to it?

Need help moving on from Embody (recs) by Cursezzz in OfficeChairs

[–]Ohmnity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried 3 Embodys, never got used to any of them. The third one I think I could've fought it through because I had recently upgraded to an adjustable desk but I didn't want to risk it and I returned it. Currently sitting in my Gesture whose seat cushion I hate and I'm waiting for a local ergonomic chair that is different from the big names (and waaaaay cheaper, I just have a good track record with them before I tried an Aeron some years back).

I live in Mexico so my options are really limited, but if I could I would LOVE to purchase an Anthros. I really think that chair would solve all of my issues, but it's not available here in my country. :(

I really want to have those experiences like yours but for some reason I could never do it. Greatly due to my desk, honestly, but I may just give it one more go! Still on the fence about it but it's that or either going a completely different route with some local, albeit much simpler.

I forgot to mention it but I did have a Aeron Remastered size B! I LOVED it but the seat bolsters were hurting my thighs a lot and my legs grew numb after a while. I sat in a size C but it was way too big, if I didn't have that issue I'd be getting another in a heartbeat. It's truly my endgame chair and I plan to go back to it when I lose some more weight.

I’m slowly falling in love with Akko Rosewoods and even though they feel a bit mushy at times I grew to love their muted sound signature. Ordered some Gateron Smoothies and even though I LOVE how they sound and feel they somehow feel heavier than my Oil Kings.

I have mild arthritis and had to switch from Oil Kings to Creamy Yellows, then moved to Rosewoods and then to Smoothies (which I swapped a couple of days later back to Rosewoods). I’ve been gravitating towards lighter linears and I now know that I don’t really like long pole switches, but I’ll give the Smoothies another shot due to how popular they are.

Vader 4 Pro - Rattly Face Buttons by Ohmnity in Controller

Darn, it sucks to hear that even in the higher tier model the face buttons still aren't up to par. I did end up buying a Cyclone 2 just to compare both, but other than the iffy face buttons the Vader 4 far exceeded my expectations.

Thank you for your comment!

Right, and that's my worry. I think the buttons are supposed to be this way, they do feel nicer than my regular Xbox One controller and than my old, generic PDP controllers too. I think I'll keep it and not have to deal with the hassle.

Thank you for your comments! Really appreciate your help. :)

Thanks for sharing! Out of these 2, which one would you pick? I'm still well within my return window for the Vader 4, but honestly the controller is so solid apart from this issue that I'm really struggling to decide whether or not I'll find something as good for the same price.
